Interviewing Ke University

The next morning, Chen Mengchuan woke up to find himself alone in bed.

Zhao Wanyu had woken up earlier than him, made some millet porridge to soothe the stomach, and also cut up a lot of fresh fruit.

He greeted her awkwardly, and after they finished breakfast together, Zhao Wanyu drove Chen Mengchuan to Ke University's headquarters.

Ke University's headquarters were located in Xianfeng District, south of Shanghai. It was quite far from the city center, and it took them about 40 minutes to get there.

The long distance made Chen Mengchuan wonder if she drove this far to work every day.

Zhao Wanyu told him that she also had an apartment in Xianfeng District and usually stayed there. He wanted to ask about her parents, but it didn't seem appropriate, so Chen Mengchuan kept quiet.

Zhao Wanyu took Chen Mengchuan directly to her immediate superior, the HR Director she had mentioned, Sister Wang.

Sister Wang's full name was Wang Fanghua. She appeared intellectual and capable. Chen Mengchuan learned from Zhao Wanyu that she was 37 years old, a full twelve years older than Zhao Wanyu.

"Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to come to Ke University, Mr. Chen Mengchuan. I am Wang Fanghua, the HR Director at Ke University. Manager Xu and Manager Toni were supposed to come, but unfortunately, some leaders from Henan Province are visiting Ke University today, and they need to adjust their schedules. Before they can meet, perhaps we could have a brief chat? Would that be alright?" Wang Fanghua asked with an apologetic smile that seemed quite sincere.

"It's fine. Those two 'great gods' are naturally very busy," Chen Mengchuan replied, unbothered.

"Thank you for your understanding. May I call you Mengchuan? Would that be okay?" Wang Fanghua asked with a smile.

"Sister Wang, please do as you see fit," Chen Mengchuan replied.

"Alright then, I won't be too formal with you, Mengchuan. I'll leave the technical details to Manager Xu and Manager Toni. I'm more curious as to why you resigned from Xia Science Academy. Would you be comfortable discussing that?" Wang Fanghua began the interview.

"Well, there were many reasons. Firstly, the academic atmosphere at Xia Science Academy..." Chen Mengchuan answered fluently.

"Knock, knock, knock." A knock sounded at the door.

Wang Fanghua stood up and opened the door. A fatty walked in.

"Mengchuan, this is our Manager Xu Shuwei. Manager Xu, this is Mengchuan, the successor you mentioned from Xia Science Academy. Mengchuan, Manager Xu, you two chat first. I'm going to find Manager Toni." Wang Fanghua excused herself and left the two men in the conference room.

Chen Mengchuan smiled politely, somewhat surprised by Xu Shuwei's physique. There was a photo of him at Xia Science Academy, but he looked like he weighed at most 130-150 pounds. The Xu Shuwei before him, judging by his build alone, looked to be over 200 pounds!

"It's a real shame for Xia Science Academy to let talent like you go without trying to keep you. Sigh," Xu Shuwei lamented.

Chen Mengchuan smiled and changed the subject. "Brother Xu, what are your thoughts on the future of artificial intelligence?"

Xu Shuwei smiled faintly. This was a question he usually asked others.

This young man before him was one of the main leaders of Xia Science Academy's Xuanyuan project. He possessed extensive theoretical knowledge and project experience, not much less than Xu Shuwei himself. After a brief consideration, Xu Shuwei slowly began to speak, "The future of artificial intelligence is too distant. Let's just talk about the next stage of AI development. Xu Shuwei's theoretical knowledge and project experience were both exceptionally rich, and his views were incisive, even surprisingly aligning with future trends.

A significant portion of the future Chen Mengchuan had envisioned in his dreams was accurately predicted by Xu Shuwei.

But unfortunately, what he had seen was far more than what Xu Shuwei had guessed, much farther, and much more real.

Chen Mengchuan listened quietly to Xu Shuwei's analysis, occasionally interjecting a sentence or two to supplement his points.

After nearly an hour of discussion, Xu Shuwei was greatly surprised by the younger man, who was several years his junior. Some of the points Chen Mengchuan added were even more precise and macroscopic.

"What is your understanding of artificial intelligence, Mengchuan? Tell me your thoughts," Xu Shuwei asked slowly.

Chen Mengchuan smiled, took a blank sheet of paper with the Ke University logo on it, picked up a pen from the desk organizer, and quickly sketched out a linked structure of diagrams. He then added many characters and data. In about 10 minutes, he flipped the paper over and pushed it towards Xu Shuwei.

Xu Shuwei picked it up with great interest and looked at it carefully. But soon, his gaze became serious, and his ample body couldn't help but tremble. He murmured, "This is impossible... this is impossible..."

"Brother Xu, I have completed all the conceptualization and module linking structures," Chen Mengchuan said calmly and seriously.

"This kind of artificial intelligence... this kind of artificial intelligence..." Xu Shuwei was somewhat speechless. On the paper, Chen Mengchuan had depicted a terrifying future for artificial intelligence.

"If you're interested, Brother Xu, I'll be staying in Shanghai City for a few more days after the interview. We can discuss it in detail."

With that, he turned and left the conference room, his corpulent body waddling.

Before long, the conference room door was knocked on again. Wang Fanghua entered with a man of well-proportioned build.

"It seems Mengchuan had a very enjoyable chat with Manager Xu. Let me introduce you. This is Manager Toni. Manager Toni, this is Mengchuan. You two chat now." After the introduction, Wang Fanghua left the conference room to the two men.

After shaking hands, Chen Mengchuan looked at Toni Chen Miantang before him. He was about 1.8 meters tall, with a well-proportioned build, wearing gold-rimmed glasses. His simple gray crew-neck t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers looked ordinary, but he exuded a genuine sense of clean efficiency.

"Manager Xu said you showed him something interesting and that I would definitely be interested. Is it this piece of paper?" Toni Chen Miantang asked Chen Mengchuan with a smile.

Chen Mengchuan also smiled and pushed the paper towards him. "Manager Xu flatters me. He was probably referring to this paper."

"Do you mind if I take a look?"

"Not at all, Manager Toni, please do," Chen Mengchuan said with a smile.

"Call me Toni. I'm not used to these Chinese job titles," Toni said as he took the paper and began to read it carefully.

After a few glances, he was first slightly surprised, then his expression showed much disbelief.

When he finished reading the contents of the paper, Toni's eyes were filled with fervor.

"Are these all your ideas?"

Chen Mengchuan shook his head. "Not ideas, but plans and a project. I've already completed the preliminary work, about 15% of the progress."

Toni trembled slightly and adjusted his glasses.

"If Manager Chen... Toni, if you're interested, I'm still in Shanghai these few days, and we can discuss it in detail," Chen Mengchuan said slowly.

"Mengchuan, could you give me this paper?" Toni asked.

Chen Mengchuan smiled, "Of course, Toni."

After leaving Ke University, Zhao Wanyu asked Chen Mengchuan with a smile, "How did it go? Did you manage to recruit them?"

"How do I get back to the city center?" Chen Mengchuan rubbed his nose and asked Zhao Wanyu.

Zhao Wanyu, dressed in a stylish white-collar outfit, blushed slightly. "Why don't we go to my place for dinner?"

"Okay." Chen Mengchuan was in a great mood and didn't refuse.

After retrieving the car, Zhao Wanyu drove into a detached villa area in Xianfeng District and parked in front of a villa.

Chen Mengchuan looked at the three-story villa before him and sighed, "You really are a little rich woman..."
