Background / History

Xun'er was raised with the status and expectations of the Ancient Clan’s Young Master. Her childhood was marked by isolation: she did not fit among peers, lacked ordinary interests, and later learns this may be because she does not belong to the current era. Her mother, the Ancient Clan Matriarch, reportedly died a thousand years before Xun’er’s birth during the Xiao–Soul conflict; the contradiction becomes central to Xun’er’s search for identity and truth 376 808.

She spent her youth in the Xiao Family, where Xiao Yan’s care gave her emotional security. Initially, she builds much of her life around him, secretly having Ling Ying protect him after he leaves Wutan City and treating An Ruoruo as a rival for his attention 289.
