"Theresa, don't stop me!" Yae Sakura tried to get past Theresa, but Theresa grabbed hold of her tightly.
"Yae Sakura, you absolutely can't go over there right now."
Theresa desperately clung to Yae Sakura's arm.
Then, in the next instant, a mass of shadow appeared before Yae Sakura and Theresa.
And then Theresa felt herself being flung into the air.
A furious roar rang out beside her ear. "Evil god! I'll avenge my sister!"
Only then did Theresa realize that the arm she had been holding onto had swung her away.
The moment Yae Sakura saw the shadow appear, rage overwhelmed her. She swung her arm and brought it down heavily upon the shadow.
Spirit Blade: Sakura Blizzard cleaved the shadow straight down the middle, splitting it in two.
Theresa spun once through the air before landing hard on her backside atop one half of the shadow. When she got back up, her eyes had already turned into spirals.
Yet after being split in two, the shadow did not stop moving. It continued to writhe across the ground, as though trying to change shape and fuse its body back together.
When Yae Sakura saw the shadow still squirming, a fierce light flashed in her eyes. She swung her blade, intending to chop it into even smaller pieces.
The blade swept through the shadow's body, cutting it apart and gradually dismembering the mass of darkness.
By the time Theresa came to her senses, Yae Sakura had already cut the shadow into who knew how many pieces.
Theresa wanted to stop Yae Sakura, but Yae Sakura seemed completely unwilling to heed her.
If anything, the sight of the shadow on the ground only made Yae Sakura angrier and more frenzied.
But... the blade passing through the shadow had not truly destroyed it.
