Background / History
Originally designated A-310, Theresa was born as a synthetic human without parents. Her body stopped aging at the apparent age of twelve, while her inherited Valkyrie and Honkai Beast traits gave her extraordinary physical potential. Otto later adopted her as his granddaughter and gave her the name Theresa Apocalypse. 490 1425
Theresa initially struggled to understand why she should protect humanity. Her bond with Cecilia Schariac gave her a personal answer: she wanted to protect Cecilia and the people Cecilia loved. When Cecilia's daughter was born, Theresa suggested the name Kiana and accepted Cecilia's request to teach and protect her. 490 491
During the Second Honkai War, Theresa failed to protect Cecilia and Kiana as she had promised. The guilt from this failure becomes a central motive behind her later determination to protect Kiana and guide young Valkyries. 491
She secretly arranged an artificial island in the Far East to shelter orphan girls who had been used as experimental subjects, intending to teach them to control their power and eventually return to ordinary life or become Valkyries. This effort developed into St. Freya Academy, where her goal was to train Valkyries who valued their own lives. 73 393 1425
Appearance
Theresa has white hair and the permanently childlike appearance of a twelve-year-old girl, despite being older than many adult Valkyries. 490 640
- Often carries the massive crucifix-shaped Divine Key, the Oath of Judah. 79 480
- Wore her hair in two buns with a Divine Land-style outfit while taking photos with young Kiana. 71
- Wore a miko outfit during the Yae Shrine incident, though she tried to keep the outfit from her students. 573 596
- Her small stature frequently causes others to mistake her for a child rather than an S-rank Valkyrie. 476 927
Personality
Theresa is compassionate toward victims of Honkai experimentation and repeatedly prioritizes protecting children, students, and civilians over institutional rules. Her decision to shelter experimental subjects and later accept Yuno into St. Freya reflects her belief that people with dangerous power should be taught rather than discarded. 73 516
As a headmaster, she is protective and forceful when her students are endangered. Seeing Xing Tian attack Valkyrie cadets immediately enraged her and drove her to intervene without hesitation. 617
She can also be pragmatic and manipulative when she believes it will help someone. Theresa used Kiana's concern for Siegfried to persuade her to enroll at St. Freya and train as a Valkyrie. 480 481
Despite her combat reputation, Theresa is easily frightened by ghosts, haunted locations, and supernatural phenomena. She was nervous while investigating Babylon Tower and panicked when animated objects pursued her in the Yae Shrine. 71 72 584 586
Abilities & Skills
S-rank Valkyrie Physiology
Theresa possesses S-rank Valkyrie combat power and a body regarded as one of Destiny's strongest. Her fighting style heavily relies on overwhelming physical strength, endurance, and close-quarters weapon use. 476 711
- Can wield the Oath of Judah, a weapon far larger and heavier than her body, as a melee weapon. 711 933
- Has exceptional stamina for prolonged combat and can regenerate severed limbs over time. 711
- Easily defeated Destiny mecha units while creating a diversion for Siegfried's escape. 156
- Defeated three Titan Mechs by swinging, throwing, and pulling the Oath of Judah through its chain. 933
- Her strength is not dependent solely on the Oath of Judah; she explicitly demonstrates this while fighting Cocolia's mechs. 933
Oath of Judah Proficiency
The Oath of Judah is Theresa's primary Divine Key. Constructed from Soul Steel nanometal, it can respond to the user's thoughts and shift between several configurations. 79
- Chain deployment — Fires chains to bind targets, anchor Theresa in place, or pull her through hostile terrain. 79 83 141
- Tracking mode — Can shrink to the size of a finger, attach to Theresa's hand, and extend its chains to track a target within a stated maximum range of one hundred meters. 79
- Spear deployment — Produces sharp light spears for binding, ranged attacks, and direct strikes. 480 484 927
- Defensive use — Its Soul Steel body can block physical attacks, including Yuno's vines. 484
- Improvised melee use — Theresa can throw the crucifix by its chain like a meteor hammer or wield its spears like blunt weapons. 933
- Limitation — The Oath of Judah could not block Sirin's intangible Honkai spear in Imaginary Space. 83
Energy-Absorbing Cells
Theresa's Vishnu-derived physiology creates difficulties for External Martial Arts cultivation. Her cells display a hunger for energy and can absorb energy to strengthen her body. 716
- Xu Yanwu's power caused her hands to glow after her cells absorbed it. 716
- Xu Yanwu advised her to wear gloves temporarily while the reaction persisted. 716
- Her Honkai Beast genes make controlling this trait more difficult than for ordinary cultivators. 716
Combat Leadership and Training
As St. Freya's headmaster, Theresa recruits, trains, and supervises Valkyries. She personally decided to train Kiana after learning that Kiana's earlier combat education lacked systematic structure. 498
- Enrolled Kiana, Mei, and Bronya at St. Freya despite the risks surrounding their backgrounds. 480 477
- Provided Kiana with third-generation Valkyrie armor, White Comet, for supervised training. 912 913
- Maintains a training room capable of simulating powerful opponents from a trainee's memories. 913
- Considered repurposing the shrine's self-repairing Hunters as durable training opponents to reduce St. Freya's equipment costs. 593
Equipment
- Oath of Judah — Theresa's Divine Key and primary weapon; capable of chain, tracking, spear, defensive, and heavy melee configurations. 79 933
- Axe of Corruption — A massive axe Theresa temporarily wielded during the Yae Shrine incident; she used it to send Xu Yanwu's Xing Tian body flying and damage its arm. 617
- Feather of Dust replica — A replicated fragment of the Eighth Divine Key given to Theresa by Otto. 482
Relationships
- Cecilia Schariac — Theresa's close friend and the person who helped give her purpose. Cecilia entrusted newborn Kiana to Theresa's protection. 71 490 491
- Kiana Kaslana — Cecilia's daughter and Theresa's goddaughter. Theresa held Kiana as a child, later recruited her into St. Freya, and remains driven by her promise to protect her. 71 480 491
- Siegfried Kaslana — Kiana's father and Theresa's ally. They worked together to rescue Kiana from Destiny, with Theresa creating a diversion for his escape. 150 156
- Otto Apocalypse — Theresa's adoptive grandfather and Destiny's Bishop. Otto gave her orders and resources, but his priorities repeatedly conflicted with her desire to protect her students. 1425 482 927
- Murata Himeko — A colleague at St. Freya who reports directly to Theresa and assists in investigating threats around the academy. 476 477
- Xu Yanwu — An uneasy ally whose interventions range from healing Theresa after Yuno's poison to repeatedly manipulating and teasing her. Theresa remains wary of him but trusts him in critical situations. 490 491 573 617
- Yae Sakura — Theresa encountered Sakura during the Sacrifice Ritual in Saint Mark Space. Sakura cut Theresa's restraints and fled with her, while Theresa attempted to understand and save both Sakura and Higu Maru. 1160 1161
- Yuno — A Pseudo-Herrscher Theresa initially tried to kill to end her suffering. After surviving Yuno's poison, Theresa later supported bringing her into St. Freya. 484 516

St. Freya Academy
As director of the Far East Branch, Theresa accepted Kiana, Mei, and Bronya into St. Freya. She used knowledge of Siegfried's danger to motivate Kiana, then set the condition that Kiana become at least an A-rank Valkyrie before receiving further information about her father. 480 481
