Showing Their Edge

Hu Shu watched the Demon Race flee after being driven back, his brows knitting slightly. He knew this was only a minor disturbance before the storm. Driving off the Demon Race so easily would likely attract even stronger enemies. But as he looked at the Human Race members' admiring and grateful gazes, his resolve hardened. No matter what, he would protect them all.

Hu Shu calmed himself and began to familiarize himself further with the Invincible Domain System. He closed his eyes, immersing his consciousness within it, as though he had entered a mysterious space. Here, he could sense the aura of every inch of land within the domain, and every trace of spiritual energy flowing through it was crystal clear. From the information fed back by the system, he learned that the domain not only granted him invincible power, but also suppressed any enemies who entered it. Furthermore, as he completed system missions and helped the Human Race survive calamities, both the domain's range and its functions could be enhanced.

Just as Hu Shu was beginning to understand the system's functions and forming plans to protect the Human Race, a burst of clamor suddenly rose from the distant forest. He snapped open his eyes and looked toward the sound, only to see a small force of the Demon Race charging fiercely toward the Human Race settlement. These demons came in all shapes and forms. Some resembled wolves, baring their fangs and claws, while others were like vultures, circling low overhead and letting out piercing cries.

Hu Shu took a deep breath, and his gaze instantly became resolute. Without hesitation, he activated the Invincible Domain. In an instant, a transparent curtain of light rapidly spread out from him, enveloping a vast stretch at the edge of the Human Race settlement on Shouyang Mountain. Wherever the light curtain passed, the air seemed to solidify, and even the spiritual energy trembled.

The first to charge into the domain was a massive Wolf Demon. The instant it stepped inside, the ferocity in its eyes was abruptly replaced by terror. Its limbs seemed bound by invisible shackles. Its swift charge came to a sudden stop, and its entire body froze in place. Then the Wolf Demon let out a pained howl as its body began to tremble uncontrollably.

The smaller demons that followed suffered the same terrifying plight. They felt an invisible, overwhelming force pressing in from every direction, making even breathing difficult. One Monkey Demon tried to swing the wooden club in its hand to attack, but before it could raise it fully, it snapped with a crack. A sharp pain shot through the Monkey Demon's arm, which dropped limply to its side.

Hu Shu strode steadily toward the demons, his steps firm and composed. At that moment, within the Invincible Domain, he seemed like a god who ruled over all things. Looking at the demons before him, now stripped of all power to resist, he felt not the slightest pity. These demons had long oppressed the Human Race and committed countless evil deeds. Now, it was time for them to pay the price.

"You wicked creatures, today is your end!" Hu Shu's voice rang like a great bell, echoing throughout the domain. He casually raised a hand and waved it. A blade of spiritual energy instantly pierced through the Wolf Demon's body. Before it could even cry out, it crashed to the ground and dissolved into a pool of blood. Seeing this, the other smaller demons went limp with terror and fell to their knees, begging for mercy.

"Spare us! Great Immortal, spare us! We will never dare again!" "Please show mercy, Great Immortal! Spare our lives!" The smaller demons' cries and pleas rose one after another.

Hu Shu looked at them coldly. "When you were exterminating the Human Race, did you ever think this day would come? The Human Race is not something you can bully at will." With that, he fired several more blades of spiritual energy, dispatching the smaller demons one by one.

The Human Race members watched the breathtaking scene from afar. They saw Hu Shu move through the Invincible Domain as though no one stood in his way, effortlessly defeating the invading demons. Admiration and gratitude surged through their hearts like a tide.

"Lord Hu Shu is incredible! If not for Lord Hu Shu, we would all have suffered a terrible fate today!" an elderly man said with deep emotion.

"Yes! Lord Hu Shu is like the guardian god of our Human Race. With him here, we have hope!" a young Human Race man echoed excitedly.

Everyone gathered around Hu Shu and bowed deeply to him, their eyes filled with reverence. As Hu Shu looked at the Human Race members before him, warmth welled up in his heart. He knew he bore the heavy responsibility of protecting the Human Race, not only because he was one of them, but also because he possessed the powerful aid of the Invincible Domain System.

However, after driving back this group of demons, Hu Shu could not help feeling uneasy. He knew full well that the Demon Race wielded immense power in the Primordial World. Driving off a small group of demons so easily would inevitably draw the attention of other demons. Perhaps stronger enemies would soon come knocking. He raised his head and looked into the distance, his gaze deep as he considered how to respond.

Hu Shu understood that simply driving back the enemies before him was nowhere near enough if he truly wanted to protect the Human Race. He needed to use the Invincible Domain System to constantly strengthen the Human Race, allowing them to gain a foothold in this Primordial World where danger lurks. Yet that was easier said than done. Setting aside the difficult missions required to upgrade the system, the Demon Race's impending retaliation alone was enough to cause a headache.

At that moment, a breeze swept by, carrying a faint chill. Hu Shu took a deep breath and sensed the aura borne on the wind, trying to catch any sign of hidden danger. He knew the calm was only temporary. A greater storm was about to arrive.

Hu Shu turned to the Human Race members and called out, "Do not lower your guard, everyone. This is only the beginning. We must be prepared to face the stronger enemies that may come next." Everyone nodded, their eyes revealing unwavering determination.

Although he had driven back this group of demons, Hu Shu's heart could not settle. He silently calculated how he should use the Invincible Domain System to strengthen the Human Race and how he should deal with the Demon Race's possible frenzied retaliation. He knew that every decision concerned the life and death of the Human Race. There was no room for the slightest carelessness.

At the edge of the open Human Race settlement on Shouyang Mountain, Hu Shu gazed into the distance and fell into deep thought. He knew an even more difficult challenge awaited both him and the Human Race.
