"I'm full," Vivian said only after swallowing the last piece of roasted meat. She wiped her mouth, then gave Hao Ren and Lily a graceful, polite nod. "Thank you for the meal."
Lily stared wide-eyed at the empty roasting rack before muttering after a long while, "Wow—your appetite is practically as huge as mine... Are you trying to become a great eating-performance artist too?"
Hao Ren's thoughts were much the same as Lily's: Since when did Vivian have such an enormous appetite? Could she have been starving herself at home all this time?
Vivian's face flushed when she heard Lily's muttering, and she explained awkwardly, "I've been asleep for a very long time... And I'm afraid I hadn't eaten before I fell asleep either, so... so I needed to eat more to replenish my strength..."
"Oh, oh, I understand," Hao Ren hurriedly smoothed things over. "Your appetite actually isn't that big—if you only eat one meal every few decades, then averaged out by day, you probably eat even less than someone who lives on wind and dew..."

The three of them had already introduced themselves and one another during the meal. Thus, before the awkward silence had lasted even two seconds, he took the initiative to find a topic. "By the way, Vivian, what are you planning to do next?"
Vivian glanced at Hao Ren. She still had no idea who the two people before her really were, but the goodwill earned by treating her to a meal was substantial enough.
