Just as Heiserana had said, it was a barrier formed from twisted thorns and roses—a sinister screen stretching endlessly to both sides and overhead before the castle's northern foyer, as though it had split the entire world in two. Normally, a barrier of such enormous scale should have been impossible to hide. When they had been in the courtyard, everyone should have been able to see it towering in plain sight. Yet in reality, Hao Ren and Lily had not seen the Wall of Roses until they crossed the foyer.
Clearly, this thing was some kind of abnormal spatial phenomenon. Or perhaps it was simply a mental illusion.
