Standing on the shattered ruins of the Founding Star, all Hao Ren could see when he looked around was the Dark Domain in its true form.
It was a stretch of cosmic space wrapped in chaos and darkness. Normal cosmic space was dark too, of course, but here, darkness was no longer a state. It had become an entity that could almost be touched and felt.
After the Founding Star had been torn apart, the remaining fragments of its celestial body floated at the center of this space. Its residual immense energy still maintained the structure of this field of ruins even after ten thousand years. Thus, the shattered continents had not dispersed into the deadly void. The polluted atmosphere was bound around the ruins by some kind of energy field, shrouding these already desolate remains in an even more desolate mist—as if a shroud had been draped over a corpse.
But there was more to the Dark Domain than this.
After seeing that similarly torn-apart planet in the distance, Hao Ren began scanning the entire sky for more wreckage and ruins. Sure enough, he soon spotted some hazy shadows in the dark chaos. Those shadows were shrouded in abnormal black fog, making it difficult to determine their true distance. Some resembled shattered celestial bodies, while others seemed to be enormous palaces or warships. Hao Ren also noticed that not all of them had a tangible presence. Some shadows were distinctly translucent. This abnormal phenomenon suggested that many of the things dragged into the Dark Domain along with the Founding Star had likely already suffered a terrible fate.
Thinking of Sulun's Gate, which had once been dragged into the Dark Domain as well before miraculously returning to the main material world, Hao Ren offered his opinion. "This space should be
