"What the hell does 'the setting changed' mean?" Lily was the first to cry out, unable to contain herself after hearing Hao Ren. "Don't tell me this world actually has a script? And the guy writing it tore up the draft halfway through!"
"There isn't some guy behind this world tearing up scripts. But as for a 'script'... there might really be one." As he spoke, Hao Ren tossed the old book in his hand onto the table. At the same time, the words on its pages continued refreshing, with new paragraphs covering the old ones. It all happened right before their eyes, as though there was no longer any need to hide it. "Vivian, begin."
Vivian nodded and gently spread her hands. Lily still had no idea what was going on. She blinked back and forth between Hao Ren and Vivian. "Hey, what are you two being so cryptic about? Your affair is already out in the open, so why are you still acting all mysterious..."
To be honest, Hao Ren sometimes really wanted to stuff something into that big-mouthed creature's mouth.
Lia was even more confused about what Hao Ren and Vivian were trying to do. The mage gripped her Iron Staff nervously, her gaze darting between everyone. "Why do I suddenly feel like you..."
She did not finish, because a distant, mysterious bell suddenly rang from somewhere unknown. The sound seemed to strike directly at everyone's souls. As it rang out, the operation of the entire world appeared to be disrupted, and everyone involuntarily stopped whatever they were doing.
Appearing alongside the bell were streaks of red moonlight tinged with a faint trace of blood.
The red moonlight seemed to pierce straight through the walls and roof of the library, rapidly and evenly filling the entire space.
