The Crystal Core Research Station was a space station that constantly underwent minor adjustments and reorganizations. Although its imposing exterior barely changed, its interior compartments, formed from countless crystals, were a group of facilities that seemed almost alive. Following instructions from the Space Station main unit—the Crystal Peak Mountain—these internal crystalline structures gradually generated many special rooms according to Hao Ren's needs. First came the living quarters prepared for Muru, followed by some Research Facilities and an enormous source-blood incubator for the Zom. Finally, because Hao Ren often brought his family to stay at the station, it also generated living compartments for humans and humanoid creatures with similar needs, such as bedrooms and dining halls.
At first, whenever Hao Ren and the others stayed at the station for extended periods, they could only make do with those standardized lattice rooms. Later, with the help of the Data Terminal, Hao Ren figured out how to reset the structure of the core area. The dining hall he built was the part his family was most satisfied with—especially Lily.
The dining hall in the Crystal Core Research Station was as crystal-clear as everywhere else. Though it had not been carefully decorated, it was still breathtakingly beautiful. Inside the large rectangular crystal lattice, two rows of thin, elongated pillars connected the ceiling and floor. Huge irregular crystals were arranged between the pillars, forming fixed teleportation gates leading to various parts of the Space Station. The facility was so enormous that every large lattice contained such a gate. The long table in the center of the dining hall was also made of crystal. Whenever its master dined there, the station's servo system synthesized food indistinguishable from natural produce and filled the table with it.
