Chapter 4: Cruel Training (Part 1)
The morning in the vast jungle was shrouded in mist, the crisp air filled with the scent of nature. Occasionally, a low beast roar echoed, making the jungle seem less peaceful and serene, instead filled with deadly danger.
"Rustle, rustle," came the sound of footsteps. Two figures, one tall and one short, stepped on the withered leaves on the ground, heading directly towards the sound of water.
Wherever the two figures passed, the beast roars, filled with ferocity, seemed to be choked off, causing the jungle to fall into instant silence. This was all because of the old yet still firm figure, whose aura was as sharp as a sword, constantly warning those pairs of eyes filled with hostility and fear!
Chen Yun followed closely behind Old Ent, feeling both scared and excited. He was scared of the occasional snorting of fierce beasts around them.
After all, he was still just a six-year-old child. Although his soul was that of a seventeen or eighteen-year-old high school student, he was still a child, wasn't he?
He was excited because he could finally begin cultivating. For someone labeled a natural-born waste, the overwhelming emotions brought about by such a massive change were incomprehensible to others. Therefore, in the face of this immense joy, the slight fear seemed insignificant.
He could finally cultivate! With this thought, Chen Yun followed his grandfather closely, walking deeper into the forest.
After walking for about ten minutes, Old Ent in front suddenly slowed down.
At this moment, Chen Yun could already hear the rumbling sound of water. He was wondering why there was such a loud sound of water in the mountains, when suddenly he felt the view in front of him clear and open up, revealing a breathtaking scene...
A majestic mountain, about a hundred zhang tall, stood before them like an ancient giant spirit god. Most striking was the wide waterfall, like a silk ribbon, cascading down from a peak invisible to the eye. Sunlight shone upon it, instantly creating a dazzling brilliance.
Accompanied by rumbling sounds, like the roar of a giant dragon, the wide pool of water below, about the size of a basketball court, was stirred into splashes. The falling water splashed a group of elks by the edge of the pool, but the elks seemed to enjoy it, showing no panic, as if they were long accustomed to it.
On the side of the pool near the mountain were jagged rocks, some protruding directly with hollows in the middle, shaped like strange fierce beasts resembling lions and tigers...
Besides the largest waterfall in the middle, twelve smaller waterfalls were arranged along the mountain peak from top to bottom. Whether by coincidence or deliberate design from heaven, there were six on each side. Their rumbling momentum was slightly inferior to the massive waterfall in the middle... Truly, the world is full of wonders! The magic and grandeur of nature are beyond the comprehension of countless living beings!
Chen Yun was now staring at the scene before him, dumbfounded, unable to snap out of it for a long time. The shock in his heart was beyond words.
Such a wondrous sight did not exist in his previous life. Such divine craftsmanship made one unable to help but marvel. It seemed this other world was indeed a strange place. This was just the jungle near a small mountain village; he didn't know how many more magical places existed.
Thinking this, a fiery passion surged within him. He had to become a powerful warrior, leave this small mountain village, and see the outside world. He had to travel across this continent and discover the wonders of this world. As he thought, he was filled with boundless ambition!
Old Ent felt Chen Yun's sudden change beside him, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. Such an aura? What could have caused such a great change in this child? He then seemed to think of something, turned to look at the waterfall before him, lost in thought, and after a while, a faint smile appeared on his face. It seemed he had chosen the right place!
"Little Chen, do you see the waterfall before you? This is the beginning of your cultivation! The task I've given you is to stand under the waterfall and endure its impact, starting with the outermost waterfall. When you reach your limit, I will strike you with seventy-seven, forty-nine punches all over your body. Of course, I will control the force. When you can withstand the impact of that waterfall for an hour, another task will be added: climbing to the top of that waterfall. And so on, until you can reach the waterfall in the very center. Then, your first course will be completed!" Old Ent said calmly.
Gulp... A swallowing sound came from Chen Yun's throat. Looking at the mountain peak that seemed to have no end, Chen Yun felt a chill run down his spine!
"Ah...!" A scream suddenly rang out, accompanied by the sound of a splash. Chen Yun was thrown into the pool.
