The metallic sheen became exceedingly faint, leaving only pale patterns visible on his skin.

Ji An fully cast the Golden Light Art. A crescent blade an inch long swept across the back of his hand and was immediately bounced away, leaving not the slightest mark, though he felt a faint vibration.

He crouched down, placed his palm on the ground, and once more formed hand seals with all his strength. This time, he unleashed the Geng Metal Spirit Severing Sword without holding back.

Although this offensive spell was at the Origin Seeking level, with the fifth layer Golden Core quality of his mana as its "fuel," combined with a high-grade Geng Metal Dao Seed, its attack power could reach the mid Golden Core level.

The Geng Metal Spirit Severing Sword sliced in along the edge of his palm, only to be deflected as well. His muscles ached, but the pain was not particularly intense.

A faint white mark was left where the spirit sword struck, yet it quickly faded and vanished completely.

"Not bad," Ji An praised. He continued his tests, this time casting the Geng Metal Spirit Severing Sword at the center of the back of his hand.

A rather sharp pain shot through him. A conspicuous white spot remained where he had been struck, but the defense still had not been breached.
