Background and History
The Wang Family was one of Black Rock City's three great aristocratic families and was described as a local branch of a larger, deeply influential clan based in the capital. Its influence reached into the Imperial Brocade Guard, local private forces, and allied organizations. 7 19
Lin Feng's initial investigation targeted the family. Before he could approach it, he was poisoned and ambushed; Fierce Tiger Gang leader Zhao was identified as someone who performed the family's “dirty work.” 1 Zhao and later Zhang Kuang invoked Wang Teng's name while threatening Lin Feng and Lin Wan, tying the family to the early attempts against them. 2 4
The Fierce Tiger Gang publicly identified itself as a Wang Family subsidiary. Its leader, Hao Tianhu, later stated that Wang Teng had ordered both the gang's actions and the ambush on Lin Feng. 7 10 The family used its influence to halt Lin Feng's initial operation against the gang. 8
Following the death of a Wang Family servant who was revealed to be a Wild Dog Demon, Lin Feng recovered a letter that implicated the Wang Family and the Zhao Family in leaking border military information to the Northern Barbarians. The Zhao Family was described as the Wang Family's loyal vassal; subsequent searches uncovered ledgers and letters bearing the Wang Family crest that recorded dealings with the Northern Barbarians. 15 16 19
The family's allies attempted to suppress these accusations. Qianhu Sun Dehai destroyed Lin Feng's submitted evidence, imprisoned him, and later offered him a position within the Wang Family if he abandoned his pursuit of them. 20 23

Conflict with Lin Feng
Lin Feng’s feud with the family began when its affiliated forces poisoned and ambushed him while he investigated it. The conflict became personal after Wang Teng's servant announced that Wang Teng intended to take Lin Wan as a concubine. 1 14
When Shen Mo ordered the family to support the campaign against Black Wind Stronghold, Wang Xiong instead arranged a martial competition. Wang Tianlong was sent against Lin Feng and killed; Wang Xiong then named Wang Teng as the next challenger. 24 26
Wang Teng sent Wang Fu in his place, prompting Lin Feng to issue a ten-day pact: after eliminating Black Wind Stronghold, he would return for Wang Teng's head. 27 Wang Teng later threatened Lin Wan and had Mysterious Cloud Sect prodigies attack her at Lin Feng's old courtyard. 42 43
Lin Feng defeated Wang Teng after the latter transformed into a Giant Python. He then brought the severed python head to the Wang Family manor, publicly accusing the family of colluding with demons and kidnapping Zhou Gang. 46 48
Wang Xiong fought Lin Feng directly, used the Blood Burning Demonic Pill to force his strength toward the Fifth Rank, and was ultimately slain. Lin Feng then ordered the extermination of the entire Black Rock City Wang Family. 49 50
