Background / History
Wang Xiong led the Wang Family of Black Rock City and stood among the patriarchs of the Three Great Families alongside Li Wanshan and Nalan Qing. He was the father of Wang Teng, the Yellow Ranking's number-one martial artist, and of Wang Tianlong, an illegitimate son ranked 100th on the Yellow Ranking. 24 26 41
When Lin Feng arrived to request the Wang Family's support against Black Wind Stronghold, Wang Xiong accused him of endangering Black Rock City and tried to have him handed over to the bandits. Shen Mo's jade token prevented Wang Xiong from attacking directly, after which he arranged for Wang Tianlong to fight Lin Feng in an arena contest. 24
Wang Tianlong's death at Lin Feng's hands drove Wang Xiong into open fury. He attempted to intervene despite the arena rules, but Shen Mo stopped him. Wang Xiong then invoked Wang Teng's reputation and demanded that the contest continue with his eldest legitimate son as Lin Feng's next opponent. 26
After Lin Feng killed Wang Teng and returned with proof of his transformation into a giant python, Wang Xiong denied the accusations that his family colluded with demons. He attacked Lin Feng personally, was wounded after Lin Feng's breakthrough to the Sixth Rank, and resorted to the Blood Burning Demonic Pill when defeat appeared imminent. Lin Feng exploited the instability of the pill-enhanced power and killed him. 48 49 50
Appearance
Wang Xiong is a burly middle-aged man with a sinister face and sharp, eagle-like eyes. His imposing physique and forceful bearing suit his position as the Wang Family patriarch. 24 47
- Sharp eyes repeatedly compared to those of an eagle. 24 47
- A burly build and powerful martial aura. 24 47
- During his final battle, the Blood Burning Demonic Pill gives him blood-red, beast-like eyes and surrounds him with a dense bloody mist. 49
Personality
Wang Xiong is arrogant, contemptuous, and accustomed to using his family's influence to dictate events in Black Rock City. He dismisses Lin Feng as a “disaster-bringer,” attempts to make him a scapegoat for the Black Wind Stronghold siege, and treats Wang Tianlong as a tool to eliminate him. 24
His confidence rests heavily on Wang Teng's status as the Yellow Ranking's number-one martial artist and a Mysterious Cloud Sect disciple. Even after Lin Feng defeats leading figures in Black Rock City, Wang Xiong repeatedly uses Wang Teng's name to intimidate him. 26 41 47
The deaths of Wang Tianlong and Wang Fu expose his volatile, vindictive side. Once Lin Feng gains the upper hand in their final battle, Wang Xiong abandons restraint and sacrifices his own foundation for power by consuming a forbidden pill. 26 49

Opposition to Lin Feng's Rise

Fall of the Wang Family
After Wang Teng's death is revealed, Wang Xiong denies Lin Feng's accusations of demonic collusion and attacks him.
