Background / History

Reincarnation and first allies

Rimuru was formerly Satoru Mikami of Earth and reincarnated as a slime. Immediately after leaving Veldora's sealed cave, Rimuru encountered Shirou Emiya, another Earth-born reincarnator. Though initially terrified by Shirou's strength, Rimuru quickly treated the encounter as a stroke of luck and began relying on their shared connection. 308

Rimuru established rules for the growing monster settlement, initially wanting to prohibit attacks on humans outright. Shirou challenged this rule by warning that human hostility toward a developing monster nation was inevitable, forcing Rimuru to consider how to protect both ordinary people and the settlement. 311

After Shizue Izawa's death, Rimuru acquired a human form modeled after her. The form's beauty and lack of biological sex became a recurring source of friction with Shirou, particularly over Rimuru's insistence on retaining a masculine identity. 323

Building the Jura alliance

Rimuru accepted the Great Ogre Tribe after their initial conflict and named Benimaru, Shuna, Shion, Souei, Hakurou, and Kurobei. The six inherited portions of Rimuru's magicules and abilities, evolved into Ogres, and pledged complete loyalty. 328

During the Orc invasion, Rimuru defeated Orc Lord Kloot and chose to bear the Orcs' sins rather than punish their entire people. This decision secured the acceptance of the Orc survivors and helped establish the Jura Forest Great Alliance. 337 338

Milim Nava's arrival made Rimuru confront the gap between current strength and that of true Demon Lords. Although Rimuru desired enough power to stand alongside Shirou, the required sacrifice of human souls initially prevented any attempt at awakening. 352 355

After surviving an attack in the human world and learning that the Kingdom of Farmus was advancing on Emiya City, Rimuru resolved to take sole responsibility for the main battlefield. Rimuru ordered the executives to eliminate the surrounding barrier camps while personally confronting Farmus's 20,000 troops. 393
