Otto Octavius's eyes lit up. "Kid, you know my Artificial Sun experiment failed because someone sabotaged it. My dream hasn't changed, but realistically speaking, I don't have the ability to make it come true.
"Then helping someone capable of achieving it seems to be my best option. And that person needs to withstand the energy conglomerates trying to undermine him. Other than Mr. Stark, I don't see a second candidate."
That shameless flattery made Tony Stark swell with pride. Without making a show of it, he even raised his brows at Henry in a provocative gesture.
Henry figured it out as well. Doctor Octopus had probably seen the miniaturized Arc Reactor in the Three-Spider Universe, so he wanted to give Stark Industries—a company that had accomplished nothing in this field in this world—a push.
Whether or not he would be remembered alongside it, at least that dream of a world with limitless energy had moved one step closer.
What Henry cared about more was how much Otto Octavius knew about the future Stark Industries. What had he told Tony Stark? And what had he left unsaid?
What variables would he—and the Green Goblin, who had also been to the Three-Spider Universe—bring to this world? And as someone with foreknowledge, how aggressive would his methods be? Henry couldn't get a handle on any of it.
Norman Osborn kept a low profile, and his commuting route was predictable, making him seem easy to assassinate. Yet Henry had never found an opportunity to get away unscathed, so that old fox had lived until now.
Killing him openly under any identity would leave hidden dangers behind. The best method would be to make him die without anyone noticing, or find a way to pin it on someone else.
