"Ms. Moynahan, did you know that India produced a special drug for brain lesions a couple of years ago? That drug was quite effective against symptoms like dementia."
Helen Moynahan was clearly not an ordinary person who paid no attention to current affairs. She frowned and tried hard to recall it.
"I've heard of that drug. But wasn't it later debunked as fake news? And many people have confirmed that you can't buy it in India anymore."
Henry put on the smile of a successful man, though it looked rather out of place with his bald head. "Ma'am, allow me to introduce myself again. I'm Henry Brown, formerly the CEO of Stark Studios in Hollywood.
"Because of my business connections, I know influential people in Bollywood, India. When rumors of this drug first emerged, I obtained some of it, which has now been discontinued, through my contacts in India.
"Since I now serve as Ms. Catherine Hepburn's personal assistant, I know that she displayed symptoms of dementia for a time as well. This was the drug that cured her.
"If you agree, I can provide one tablet of this dementia treatment. It isn't medication for a chronic illness, so it doesn't need to be taken long-term." But Ms. Hepburn's symptoms had been in their early stages, so one pill had been enough to work. Her mother's symptoms were already quite severe, and he was not sure whether it would be effective.
"And this drug only needs to be taken once. Taking more won't help. So I can't guarantee whether it will ultimately be of any use. Even so, are you willing to accept it?"
Henry laid out the whole story clearly, even though it was fabricated rather than the truth. At the very least, it sounded plausible and fairly convincing.
