The advantage of a small boat was that it drew little attention and could dock anywhere. So Black Super let Alexei and the other two off at some stretch of coast in New York, changed back into his usual clothes, and sailed the boat back to the yacht marina.
The reason he had never considered taking the two directly under his wing was that, aside from having thoroughly offended Michael Corvin earlier, they now trusted only Alexei. Black Super could not be bothered to curry favor with two inexplicable dark creatures.
Selene was easier to deal with. She might have been lost, but she had a clear understanding of her own position. That allowed her to rein in her sharp edges instead of stabbing anyone she saw. Even so, outsiders could not easily earn her trust. She simply would not hurt them.
Michael Corvin, however, was different. He had originally been a resident doctor with a bright future ahead of him, only to become the target of Werewolves and Vampires because of his ancient bloodline. In the end, he was infected by both viruses and became an exceedingly rare hybrid.
For ordinary Vampires or Werewolves, being infected with the other side's virus meant certain death. Without Alexander Corvinus's bloodline, there was no way to integrate the bloodlines of the two monsters.
It was not wrong at all to say his world had been turned upside down. The current Michael Corvin was like a lit firecracker, ready to explode at any moment.
