The Nemesis Project
Two all-terrain Mountain Off-Road Vehicle arrived at the main entrance of Raccoon City Elementary School late at night. The three women sat normally in their seats; Jill Valentine and Ada Wong each drove one vehicle, while Alice sat in the passenger seat next to Jill.
The Green Arrow Duck is much larger than a normal person, so he sat backwards on the back rack of Ada Wong's vehicle. Once they arrived at their destination, the Green Arrow Duck stretched out his legs and stood up on the ground.
The doors on the all-terrain Mountain Off-Road Vehicle were practically nonexistent, and there were no windows to obstruct them. So Jill Valentine and Alice simply pushed themselves out. Only Ada Wong painstakingly opened the door and got out.
Perhaps because it was late at night, only the streetlights reminded people that this was still within the realm of civilization. Inside the elementary school building, however, not a single light shone, and this darkness evoked a primal fear.
Against the backdrop of a disaster unfolding in Raccoon City, Walking Corpses loomed from the school windows, as if undead monsters were about to pounce at any moment.
"Is this the place?" Alice looked up at the monotonous building in front of her.
"Yes, Raccoon City Elementary School," Jill Valentine said firmly.
"Should we split up and search?" Alice asked, looking at the others to confirm. But she noticed that Green Arrow Duck's attention wasn't on the buildings. "What's wrong? Is there something on the street?"
Because Alice woke up earlier than expected, the area before elementary school wasn't like in the movie, where a K-9 Unit's vehicle crashed and all the Virus-Infected Dogs inside escaped.
But this does not mean that the crisis has lessened.
Green Arrow Duck had already noticed that there was a hidden bomb in the group. Alice was constantly emitting radio signals, like a locator, telling everyone where she was.
Based on information from the movie, Green Arrow Duck actively searches and, sure enough, spots a very unusual Zombies in the traffic monitoring system. Meanwhile, the Umbrella Corporation's top Umbrella, who oversee the situation in Raccoon City, has prematurely released Nemesis (The Pursuer). This is one of the results of Umbrella Corporation's controlled bioweapons project. Besides its enormous size and superhuman strength, it can carry heavy weapons with extremely high recoil, making it like a human tank.
This Monster's weakness is that it can only move on foot. So it was previously sent to the mansion at the entrance of the Hive Base, but before it arrived, the group had already left the Hive Base and gone elsewhere.
Here's the funny part: the Nemesis, of course, changed targets as it followed Alice's movements. And coincidentally, it happened to end up near Raccoon City Elementary School, because this school is situated between the Nemesis's landing site and the mansion at the base entrance.
So, he had essentially walked right into a trap. Green Arrow Duck, who had only just realized this, felt a mixture of amusement and exasperation. Alice, on the other hand, hadn't noticed at first. But when she looked in the direction Green Arrow Duck was staring, she also sensed that familiar yet strange aura. The silence between the Duck Plushie and the other woman made the other two women uneasy. Jill Valentine stepped forward and asked, "What's going on?" "There's something there," Alice said, voicing her feeling.
"Where?"
Alice pointed in the direction where Green Arrow Duck had been scouting, and the Nemesis had come from. "There."
Ada Wong, standing behind, looked somewhat skeptical. "I didn't see anything."
That doesn't change the fact that something is there.
Trusting only what she saw, Ada Wong squinted her eyes, wanting to see more clearly in the darkness. The indistinct figures drew her forward involuntarily.
He grabbed Ada Wong, preventing her from being exposed to the enemy's fire. Without turning around, Green Arrow Duck said to the others, "You guys go find that girl. Angela Ashford, a sixth-grade student at Raccoon City Elementary School."
"Since she came to the school after the incident, it's because she's familiar with the place. I believe she'll return to the place she knows best, which is her classroom."
"According to school records, Angela Ashford's class most frequently uses the second-floor classroom. You can search classrooms 207 through 209. I'll stay here to hold off those Monster." Having witnessed the Duck Plushie's rampage, the group naturally didn't see anything wrong with what he said. Jill Valentine and Ida Wong both knew that the little girl was key to turning Dr. Ashford against him. To dismantle the Umbrella, the girl was crucial.
So the two women readily agreed and nodded. Jill Valentine added, "I understand. Have you noticed any Monster inside?" "Yes, you have to be careful. I suspect there's only one living person inside, and the rest are Zombies. So don't approach anyone easily, and it's best to assume that anyone who can't speak or answer is Zombies," Green Arrow Duck advised the others.
But Alice had no intention of leaving. "I have a feeling I should stay. You guys go inside and find someone."
Ada Wong and Jill Valentine may have misunderstood that Alice wanted to stay behind to keep an eye on the Duck Plushie and prevent him from leaving alone.
So the two didn't argue, simply saying, "Be careful," before pulling out their Tactical Flashlight and pistols and heading into the school. Alice's wary expression didn't make Green Arrow Duck suspect she was staying behind to keep an eye on him. Instead, she looked at the Duck Plushie and asked, "Aren't you leaving?"
"When it's time to leave, I will." Green Arrow Duck raised the revolver machine gun in its Duck Butt again, exuding a menacing aura. "Suit yourself, be careful." Alice didn't waste any more words; she simply looked at the figure in the darkness. Noticing that the Nemesis had also stopped moving, Green Arrow Duck wondered if the infected could sense each other's presence? Or were these two special?
Considering that the Nemesis is a more powerful Zombies species than the Licker, and is even an unkillable mid-boss in the game, Green Arrow Duck isn't very confident in his firepower.
The Multi-Directional Combat Rounds should be powerful enough, but it was used too aggressively before, especially to destroy laser channels. Now there are only five rounds left, not even enough for a salvo.
The machine gun and Railgun ammunition were still plentiful. However, both were small-caliber, and Green Arrow Duck had his doubts about whether they would be effective against the Nemesis, whose body had been enhanced multiple times and who possessed a powerful self-healing ability.
Green Arrow Duck wanted to discuss tactics with Alice, but unexpectedly, the perfect infected person of the virus rushed out.
Alice didn't even draw her gun; the shotgun she had been holding was tucked back into her sleeve while she was in the car, and she ran bare-handed.
This frantic run wasn't without purpose. Even when the Nemesis's Rotary Gatling Cannon roared, it could only chase after Alice. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Green Arrow Duck used its Micro-hover System to "glide" in another direction.
