Administering the Serum
After the first dose of Antiviral Serum was prepared, Green Arrow Duck did not rely on anyone else, but personally inserted the Antiviral Serum into the Canary Device and then activated it.
As the device preheated and the countdown ended, the Antiviral Serum was launched into the sky, dispersing as a mist. Everyone looked up, wondering what they could make out.
Spider-Man asked, "Did it work?"
"You did a great job," Green Arrow Duck gave a direct affirmative answer.
"How did you know...?" Spider-Man and the others followed the Duck Plushie's gaze and saw that all the Zombies that had been surrounded in the rooftop cage area had fallen and lost their vitality, looking just like ordinary corpses.
Previously, they had been desperately shaking the barbed wire, constantly trying to break free. The reinforcement work alone was done countless times that night. On the other side, the chained human-pig Licker met the same fate; it stopped struggling and chasing the moving fresh meat. Now it was as still as a lump of dead flesh, showing signs of rapid decay.
"Did it work?" Spider-Man asked, his voice rising with excitement.
Without saying a word, the Green Arrow Duck continued to let the bioreactor produce Antiviral Serum for the virus.
Spider-Man, seeing this, was puzzled. "Mr. Duck, are you still going to continue making the Antiviral Serum?"
"Of course, Raccoon City is very large, while the Canary Device has a limited range of influence. Without multiple doses, it's impossible to cover the entire area in a short time." "However, our designed Antiviral Serum can be airborne and spread to other places. This is why we don't need to worry about virus carriers hiding inside buildings; they will still be cured by the Antiviral Serum."
Spider-Man recalled the theoretical functions of the Antiviral Serum and the effects it could produce.
While replenishing the bioreactor, Green Arrow Duck said, "That's right. But relying solely on airborne transmission takes time. What If...? the virus spreads further during this period? To be on the safe side, I think we should use the drug delivery range designed for the Canary Device as a benchmark, and deliver the drug multiple times in multiple locations to cover the entire Raccoon City, ensuring absolute safety."
"Don't think that Raccoon City is free of these Monster just because the mastermind painstakingly gathered the Zombies horde with bait and it's been defeated. Given time, the virus can easily infect the entire city again."
"This bioreactor isn't producing Antiviral Serum fast enough, otherwise I would definitely produce enough Antiviral Serum to cover every inch of Raccoon City!"
"To not use Antiviral Serum to 'marinate' this city is to disrespect the virus. Unfortunately, I can't do that, and I don't have that much time, so I can only choose the way that can restore normal life to this city as quickly as possible."
"I believe this is the best option for the residents living here, as well as those who haven't yet been infected by the virus. Of course, this is just my opinion, and you are welcome to try it. I welcome any constructive feedback."
Spider-Man, rarely rendered speechless, managed to squeeze out, "Well, okay, sir, I agree with you." The Spider-Man wasn't the type to argue about everything, so he wouldn't force a conversation. However, that didn't mean he had no questions. "In that case, Mr. Duck, in which locations do you plan to use the Canary Device to deliver the Antiviral Serum?"
Green Arrow Duck took out a map of Raccoon City and laid it flat on the table. "It's a city with a population of about 100,000, and its facilities and construction are quite modern."
"And to be honest, the construction here is much more upscale than that of a city with 100,000 people. Look outside, although there are no skyscrapers, there are plenty of buildings that are twenty or thirty stories high."
"According to my investigation, the city's biggest taxpayers are the Umbrella Corporation, and many public construction projects are also related to the Umbrella. Furthermore, a considerable proportion of residents work for the Umbrella Corporation."
"It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that this is a city built by Umbrella. But today, we also know why Umbrella went to such lengths. Everything was to cover up and support the underground biochemical research base."
"Returning to the issue of cities, Raccoon City covers an area of approximately 56 square kilometers. However, even at full capacity, the Canary Device can only cover an area of about 10 square kilometers."
"Therefore, multiple administrations after relocation are necessary to distribute the produced Antiviral Serum throughout the city. I plan to activate the Canary Device at these locations." With a pen, Green Arrow Duck marked an X on the map, then used a compass to draw circles of ten square kilometers each, according to the scale. These circles inevitably overlapped, but the final pattern covered the entire city's outline.
"If everything goes smoothly, it should be finished before noon today. Not only will the people of Raccoon City be no longer exposed to threats, but we can also head home and get some rest."
At the same time, Green Arrow Duck was wondering if he should prepare a special Antiviral Serum serum and throw it into the Hive Base. He didn't want to clear the surface, or what kind of monsters would pop out of there.
"This is fantastic." Spider-Man had no Reason to object to this flawless plan.
Just as Spider-Man was about to ask more questions, he suddenly heard a cry of surprise. "Angela, what's wrong?" Jill Valentine noticed that the girl sleeping next to him was acting strangely.
When a child is in trouble, no one present will ignore it; a crowd will immediately gather around.
Jean Grey stepped forward. "I also work as the school doctor, let me check on her." Although there were many people present who could have acted as doctors, everyone gave way.
High fever, night sweats, and confusion—these symptoms indicated how critical the girl's condition was. Because she couldn't directly ask Angela how she was doing, Jean Grey didn't dare to make any judgments or even administer medication.
Knowing the child's importance, and based on clues from the movie, Green Arrow Duck suggested, "Perhaps you could look through her personal belongings; there might be clues there."
"After all, when we found her, although she was a bit frightened, she at least seemed healthy. Her sudden change in condition might be due to a pre-existing illness, so there should have been some usable medication among her personal belongings."
Jill Valentine immediately opened Angela Ashford's backpack and searched through it.
Inside were mostly school textbooks, notebooks, and stationery. A particularly striking children's cartoon lunchbox caught Jill Valentine's attention because it had an Umbrella symbol on it. Taking the lunchbox out, Jill Valentine immediately realized something was wrong with the weight. "Does anyone know what this is for?" Pressing the switch next to the box, the "lunchbox" opened automatically. It was a temperature-controlled container for storing virus and Antiviral Serum, along with a syringe. Several doses had already been used, leaving the storage compartment empty.
Upon seeing the box, Jean Grey immediately pulled up the girl's sleeve. Her arm was covered in needle marks. "This child is... infected?"
"Yes, she's highly infected like me. I just don't know why her condition is so serious." It was Alice who spoke; although she looked somewhat disheveled, she didn't appear to be in as much pain as Angela.
