Geniuses Making Things Difficult for Each Other
Henry.
"Yes, honey. Call me now if you need anything?"
To facilitate communication, Stark Studios provided its executives with the latest portable phones, and CEO Henry was no exception. However, not many people had his phone at the moment.
Within the same social circle, most people are still observing, waiting to see how much value this man can offer before deciding on their attitude.
Although the plan to digitize film cameras has been widely discussed, most people still believe that the mastermind behind it is the Stark Family genius, and that Henry Brown is just a figurehead.
That's why not many people have his phone number now, and even fewer people actually call it. Charlize Theron is undoubtedly one of them.
But she won't make the call unless there's something important. At least, the two of them won't have long phone conversations just to talk about trivial family matters.
So, in her second sentence, Charlize went straight to the point, asking, "Could Jane come over today to watch our acting practice?"
Why did you think of inviting her?
"Because she felt I should go to a formal acting school. But what I learned in El Salvador wasn't as much as what I learned from you. So I declined. She meant she wanted to see our training process."
"If she wants to come, of course I have no objection. Don't worry about Kitty, with me here, that little kitten can't hurt anyone."
"But..." Charlize hesitated on the phone.
"Honey, just say what you want to say."
"Actually, although Jane didn't say it explicitly, I still sensed that she was somewhat worried about our relationship."
"What's wrong?" Henry asked, puzzled. It's not easy to guess what someone is thinking.
"I think she wants you to contribute to my acting career, but she also doesn't want you to hold us back. Wouldn't that be a bit awkward?"
Henry comforted her, "What's wrong with that? From an agent's perspective, if she didn't have that thought, I would question her professionalism."
"But don't worry, darling. We have plenty of time together, but success should come early. Work hard where you feel it's necessary, and I'll always support you."
"Thank you, baby. I love you," Charlize Theron said sweetly.
"I love you, darling." Feelings need reciprocation. Now that the other person has expressed their feelings, Henry certainly won't use that word cautiously as he did before his transmigration.
Moreover, after living in the Western world for four or five years, I had to admit that I initially relied on acting skills to pretend that I had integrated into this world.
Now, he's lost the way he was before he time-traveled and is more accustomed to Western ways of doing things. It just goes to show that the environment really does influence a person; no wonder Mencius' mother moved three times to find the right environment for her son.
However, some things still slip out of the mouth habitually. Like Henry asking now, "Are you coming back for dinner?"
Charlize Theron said over the phone, "We have an audition this afternoon, I don't know how late it will go. I won't miss my acting practice tonight, but I'll probably eat out with Jane before going home."
"Alright, I'll feed Kitty first and let her lie down to digest. You know, that kitten is always especially energetic when she's hungry."
"Is that energetic? Several times I've felt like Kitty's drooling over me. Anyway, I'll stop here. I have to go now. See you tonight."
"See you tonight." After hanging up the phone, Henry turned around. A group of people were setting up a special large computer in a large room.
This is the West Coast Supercomputer that Tony Stark promised to build, constructed by Stark Industries' computer division.
Theoretically, its computing power is the highest among all supercomputers in the world today, after all, it is the newest, but the gap with the second-ranked one is not significant. This is because the focus of this supercomputer is not computation, but image processing.
Although a significant number of parts are custom-made, they are still within Stark Industries ' manufacturing capabilities. When encountering specifications that exceed the limits, Tony Stark, based on his location on the East Coast, will personally investigate solutions.
And this is Tony Stark's greatest value to Stark Industries right now; he leads a research team specifically to overcome manufacturing challenges.
Whether it's substandard materials or inadequate performance, it's as if everything has a solution in front of his genius mind. With just a few pointers, Tony can get the team to produce a qualified product.
In a sense, what others perceive as difficulties poses no challenge to Tony Stark. The only project that has recently taken him some time to work on is Henry's supercomputer design proposal.
There weren't many things Tony Stark could find fault with. Some of the difficulties seemed more like the person who wrote the design was challenging Stark Industries ' manufacturing capabilities.
Therefore, Tony Stark only had two choices. One was to change the design, which might reduce efficiency, but at least he could build it. The other option was to find a way to upgrade Stark Industries and build what was on the blueprints.
Henry wasn't simply trying to make things difficult for people. His designs were all within reasonable limits, or based on concepts from academic papers, with specific design ideas. They weren't some groundbreaking black technology.
Even though he was on the West Coast, he didn't just sit idly by after submitting the design drawings. Some of the newly recruited programming staff were tasked with upgrading the digital coding.
Their first task was to thoroughly understand the 1080P codec provided by Henry, and then move on to 2K, 4K, and even 8K.
Some people will work on improving the post-production software, including functions such as editing, color grading, audio mixing, and special effects. Here, "special effects" doesn't refer to computer animation effects, but rather to functions like adding subtitles in post-production.
During the editing phase, Stark Industries naturally provided the most advanced commercially available computers. Tony Stark specifically instructed that the i486 should be donated to a museum and not used anymore; he couldn't afford the embarrassment.
In addition to the software, Henry also had to oversee the assembly of supercomputer parts shipped from the East Coast.
This was naturally handled by engineers supported by Stark Industries, as well as newly recruited hardware engineers from Stark Studios. However, the overall person in charge was Henry Brown, one of the designers.
Tony Stark shipped the tested parts to the West Coast. If the assembly in Los Angeles goes wrong, one can imagine the ridicule Henry will face.
In short, it's like two brilliant minds struggling with each other.
But no one backed down from this challenge.
They disdain deliberately creating difficulties or traps for the other party. However, if anyone can't keep up with the other party's train of thought, they have to obediently make a call for help and enjoy the treatment of being first given a slap on the face and then being educated.
However, in this silent contest between the West Coast, Henry still had a slight advantage. He was only responsible for monitoring the assembly progress and keeping an eye on the codecs and software development.
After all, he provided the design, so it's not unreasonable for him to take advantage of the situation later.
So, before it was time to leave work, he, the CEO, slipped away. This fulfilled a dream he had since his working-class days. He still had other things to do that evening.
