Tony Stark's Drastic Change
Building a supercomputer is no small matter for any country. But in the United States, it doesn't seem to be considered a big deal.
Any academic or research institution with even a modicum of strength can build something as soon as it finds a financial backer. To maintain United States's image as the world's leading science and technology nation, the Old Money can be said to spare no effort.
But what is the entertainment industry trying to do by building a supercomputer?
Fish pond fried fish?
This is what Hollywood insiders don't understand about Stark Studios. They don't know whether to be afraid and take action to suppress it, or whether to accept it.
From the perspective of the large film market, Stark Studios ' new CEO, Henry Brown, has not made a strong push into the field of film production.
Although there were rumors that he wanted to promote his girlfriend, under the guidance of his experienced agent JJ Harris, the woman, who wasn't even a minor star yet, didn't rely on spending money to get a lot of roles in popcorn movies or chick flicks.
They don't mind taking on supporting roles, but they want to work with big stars or directors.
They wouldn't touch a project that was clearly a scam to defraud investors. Although the entire crew and actors would still get their salaries, it was only the investors or production company that would be disappointed.
They don't just apply for auditions for one type of film. From scatological comedies to Shocker and action movies, this young actor can be seen auditioning for various genres.
It's fair to say that Stark Studios' new CEO's girlfriend seems to have received no help from her man. But those trying to get a red sofa as a receptionist or to make advances cannot ignore her boyfriend's status.
To reiterate, Stark Studios has no say in how other companies produce their films, nor do they have any influence over whether a film is a box office success.
But for a company that controls most of Hollywood's equipment supply, ruining a project is still quite easy.
No one was sure if this young man would act like a mad dog if he touched his woman. Young people from humble backgrounds who suddenly gain immense wealth are the most unstable.
Just like his boss Tony Stark, that playboy, he has become a headache in the industry.
The Stark' previous period of dormancy was like a period of patience undertaken in preparation for seizing power and transforming Stark Industries.
Once the entire company was in order and the Stark crown was secure, the young man immediately turned to a life of debauchery, indulging in sensual pleasures.
What's even more fucking infuriating is that this guy doesn't shy away from reporters! And he doesn't just pick women who have been screened and deemed safe! He also never blocks the news.
In other words, if others try to use this kind of thing as leverage, he won't even give it a second thought. As for nude photos and scandals, Tony will only ask, "Doesn't it look good? If it doesn't, don't publish it, it's embarrassing!"
His private life may seem chaotic, but for an unmarried man, as long as he doesn't involve illegal activities such as being a minor, violence, or coercion, no one can judge him from a legal perspective; he can only be criticized from a Moral perspective.
What's the big deal to a shameless young man like him?
But for a certain group, Tony Stark's transformation was a good thing. Stark Industries was no longer the aggressive force it once was; business negotiations were now in the hands of the more principled Obadiah Stane.
Now that everyone can cooperate happily, some unnecessary underhanded tactics can be put away. Everyone knows that a stable environment is the best for making money, and there's no need to plunge Stark Industries into turmoil once again.
However, Stark Industries' decision to tone down its ambitions did not mean that the young heir had learned to be docile. Many people did not understand why he chose to strike out from Stark Studios.
Ultimately, it's not related to the overall situation, so many people are sitting and waiting for the results. Only one group of people can't sit still! That's the companies, led by Sony, that are constantly delving deeper into the field of imaging technology.
It's like everyone's happily fighting with spears, while someone is researching matchlock guns and creating a revolutionary three-stage volley, thinking that this will allow them to conquer the world.
Then someone jumped out with an AK47 that had unlimited ammo and said, "I'm going to go on a killing spree!" How could I tolerate that?!
However, none of the companies immediately jumped out or took action to suppress Stark Studios. Because who knows if those were just empty promises or just rumors being released?
The example of someone who relied on boasting to throw their opponent into a panic, only to end up destroying themselves, has only recently occurred: the United States Star Wars Program and the collapse of the Red Empire.
Even if there is no strong causal relationship between the two, they are not completely unrelated.
Stark Studios ' public announcement of digitizing movies and building supercomputers is seen by some as nothing more than a smokescreen with unclear motives.
If anyone gets anxious or panicked, that's when they've truly fallen into the trap.
So the bigwigs in the film industry just made some sarcastic remarks, and no one believed that Stark Studios could achieve leapfrog development.
While everyone is still arguing about DVD specifications, some are already jumping to next-generation DVDs. They're just paying attention, not really taking it to heart.
This phenomenon persisted until the supercomputer codenamed "Hollywood Kid" was completed. Stark Studios ' digitization process also immediately yielded results.
The new camera couldn't directly replace 35mm film, nor did it intend to. Stark Studios was simply releasing a film camera with even better image quality than the tape-based digital cameras used by television stations.
The target audience is B-movie production companies that don't plan to release films in theaters and instead go straight to the videotape market.
A key focus for this customer group is cost control. With limited sales volume, the lower the cost, the higher the profit margin.
Compared to traditional cameras where expensive 35mm film becomes unusable after a bad shot or a retake, this is a significant improvement.
Digital cinema cameras that use hard drives as storage media not only allow users to view their footage on the spot, but also to delete unsatisfactory scenes and reshoot them.
The cost difference between the two is so significant that even a detailed calculation is unnecessary.
Having used the digital editing studio rented by Stark Studios, I can't say which is more convenient or easier to use than a traditional studio, but it's not unacceptably worse either. It just requires learning new usage methods.
In addition, Stark Studios provided subsidies during the rollout of the new equipment, further reducing production costs.
All of this led the B-movie videotape market to switch from traditional cinema cameras to Stark Studios ' digital cinema cameras without hesitation.
