Eternals
Unlike Hollywood A-list actors who prefer to use campervans as their lounges, Kingo's lounge is a luxurious large tent.
Inside, there was a dressing table, a cosmetics cabinet, two large coat racks of costumes, a small table for discussion and work, and three chairs. The small table was covered with film materials, including the script, storyboards, and schedule.
Henry was ushered into the tent, and Karun Patel began to perform her duties as steward.
After tidying up the small table and pouring her master a cup of milk tea in an exquisite porcelain vessel, Karun Patel turned to ask, "Mr. Brown, black tea? Milk tea? Or coffee?"
"Black tea, no sugar, thank you."
While happily petting the tiger's head, Kingo said to Henry with her back turned, "Black tea is good, but you should try milk tea; it tastes even better."
"A gentleman doesn't take what others cherish," Henry smiled.
He had already figured it out. Of the prepared premium black tea, milk tea, and coffee, the milk tea was served in much smaller quantities than the other two. This indicated that Kingo preferred milk tea, and the other two were probably just prepared for guests.
Moreover, the milk tea he drank was authentic English milk tea, not India masala tea with added spices and herbs. English milk tea is made by steeping tea directly in milk, not by adding creamer or fresh milk after steeping tea in boiling water. The two taste completely different.
But Henry, who had long suffered from the bitterness of tea, had endured United States where good coffee was plentiful but good tea was hard to find. Now that he had come to India, one of the world's major tea-producing countries, how could he possibly drink anything else?
Although the tea here is fermented black tea, rather than simply green tea processed by fixing, its enticing aroma is the only flavor Henry has found acceptable, and even captivated by, since arriving in India.
Taking a small sip of the deep brown tea, the fruity aroma is slightly pungent, like the scent of citrus fruits. The finish is long and pleasant, with different flavors on the front, middle, and back of the tongue. The sweet aftertaste, in particular, is something you can't find in cheap teas.
Savoring it closely feels like all forty trillion cells in your body are coming alive. "Where is this black tea from?"
Kingo turned his head away and said with a smile, "This is Nilgiri black tea, one of the three major tea-producing regions in India. However, its location and climate are very similar to Sri Lanka, so its reputation worldwide is not as well-known as Sri Lanka's Ceylon tea."
When facing a wild beast, the worst thing you can do is look away, because the animal will interpret this as a sign of fear. If the beast is hungry, it might pounce and bite you; otherwise, something would be wrong.
But Kingo seemed to ignore Kitty's threat and turned to look at Henry. Although his hands didn't stop moving, it didn't seem like he was exerting any special force to suppress the Tiger's movements.
Simply put, he was genuinely fearless.
What If...? this person is neither a fearless newborn calf nor someone with extraordinary audacity, then there is only one possibility: Kingo has the ability to be Tiger.
Although Kingo demonstrated archery skills in the movie, the Eternals are no pushovers; even disregarding the specialized abilities of each Eternals, the average level of the Eternals in the comics is something that ordinary Earthlings can hardly match.
By comic book standards, this character possesses an average strength of fifteen tons, the ability to fly, manipulate Cosmic Energy, and even perform molecular-level control. As for self-healing and regeneration, these are standard features.
So don't underestimate the Eternals; they're a race where everyone Superman.
Incidentally, the Mad Thanos, also known as Thanos or the Thanos, is classified as a member of the Eternals in the comics.
However, he was not a first-generation Eternals; rather, he was a deformed Eternals born with defects on Titan and was subsequently exiled. This explains his later desire for revenge against society.
In the movie, Thanos belongs to the Titanians, a race that perished because their home planet's resources were exhausted. He once proposed eliminating half the population to prolong the race's survival, which led to his rejection.
However, in the comics, the Titanians are depicted as the Second-Generation Eternals, not the first generation created by the Celestials.
With Thanos as a point of reference, Henry amplified the threat level of the man before him by several notches, and replied with a smile, "This is truly excellent tea. You know, in United States, it's not easy for ordinary people to get good tea."
"The CEO of Stark Studios isn't good enough? Maybe it's insignificant compared to the Big Eight Hollywood, but the company's assets and your salary are probably better than most United States', right?" Kingo asked jokingly.
"A year ago, I was just a lowly guy struggling at the bottom of society. My best job was serving others. I had to sneak around when I had the chance to get involved in these high-end things. I was too lazy to cause trouble, so I mostly avoided them. It's nothing like how I can do it openly now."
During my time as Audrey Hepburn's assistant, I enjoyed the same level of food and lodging as the lady.
However, she is not the kind of person who indulges in extravagance. The food and drinks she eats and drinks are mainly healthy and fresh, which is still some distance from the real top-quality ingredients.
People who think the two are the same generally fall into two categories. First, they've never tasted truly good food. Second, they've been fooled by deceptive marketing tactics.
The tea and coffee used by Kingo are rare and exquisite, and even the brewing method is quite particular. It can be said to be the kind of top-quality product where every step, from the stage of farmer care to the completion of brewing and pouring into a porcelain cup, is done with great care.
Don't take India's poverty for granted. The lives and enjoyment of its wealthy are beyond the imagination of ordinary people.
Kingo was quite surprised by Henry's self-deprecating humor and asked, "Has no one offered you anything good this past year?"
"During this year, I mostly buried myself in research. Although I did get close to some people, those who fawned over me before I achieved anything were probably not interested in investing, but rather in causing trouble."
"Oh, is that so? I'm sorry, but you have to understand, no one would dare to lie to me."
"I understand, a film family, you know. The fifth patriarch, hmm." Henry raised an eyebrow, speaking meaningfully.
Releasing Hu Tou, Kingo returned to the small table, sat down, and picked up his milk tea to drink. He said calmly, "I need to find out first, where did you learn that word?"
Henry replied, "Although the written records of the Maya civilization have been almost completely destroyed, there is still a group of scholars who are keen to study the few remaining records and hope to reconstruct that history from the oral stories passed down in South America."
"But there is a book, <Strange Tales of South America>, which mentions that deep in the rainforest there is a settlement ruled by Eternity, a peaceful paradise without conflict. The ruler is immortal, or according to another version, the throne is passed down through generations."
"But even this paradise has been described by some as a man-eating land from which no one can escape once they enter. This record is placed alongside anecdotes about cannibals."
"Because there isn't enough evidence, only the confident accounts of one self-proclaimed eyewitness after another, most people believe it's a legend similar to the Loch Ness Monster or the Snow Mountain Wild Man."
The most important clue, of course, is the movie memory from before the time travel, but Henry won't mention that. The book he mentioned also exists in this world; and, as he himself said, it contains clues about the Eternals.
When Henry was searching for love stories from different countries, he read a lot of books from various cultural circles. Henry discovered that there were quite a few records about the Eternals.
But these are usually just anecdotes or legends, without any real evidence. It's just that mentioning them now is convenient, serving as proof for my search for the Eternals.
