"This is a very wise parable," Grant Rogers said. He, like many others, avoided expressing his own thoughts and stance, instead offering a critique of the story from a higher perspective.

Henry shrugged and said, "Yes, that's what I think too. Without a full understanding of the situation and without the awareness of self-sacrifice, such goodwill is foolish."

"I believe you fought in that great war, and your goal was to fight fascism, not simply to beat up the Germany at the behest of the U.S. government."

The use of "World War" to describe it makes it impossible for Henry to guess that the veteran in front of him participated in regional wars like the Korean War or the Vietnam War. Therefore, his enemy must be Germany, hence the use of this term.

After much difficulty, the Old Bai man finally nodded in agreement, saying, "That's right. I stood up against fascism and unreasonable racial discrimination policies. It's just that Germany at the time was under the leadership of a madman, so I fought against them."

The Old Bai man's statement was cautious. At least during the war, many people, including the Germany people, were unaware of the Carnage and various inhumane acts committed by the Nazis against Jews; at most, they knew about apartheid and the deportation of them to concentration camps.

Those atrocities were only publicly revealed after the war. So during the war, anti-fascist slogans could be shouted, but as for opposing inhumane Carnage, even Jews who weren't directly involved probably wouldn't believe it.

"Right?" Henry chuckled smugly. "If someone were to use pure goodwill as an excuse, I'd just think they had ulterior motives and were trying to blackmail me for something."

Grant Rogers chuckled softly and said, "Child, don't be so wary. I'm just here out of curiosity, wanting to get to know you. Nothing more."

"Now that things have come to this point," Henry said with a forced smile. "Oh, I heard from Mr. Stark that someone was going to give me a surprise today. I thought it was Mr. Rogers introducing his beautiful granddaughter to me?"

"It's a real shame that I have no children, and of course no grandchildren. I don't even have any grand-nephews or nieces of the right age."

Okay, that's all for now. Someone in trouble is coming over. If anyone asks, just pretend you never saw me. Okay?

Before leaving, the Old Bai man gave Henry a playful wink. Then he skillfully turned to strike up a conversation with the others, as if he were a well-connected and talkative old man accustomed to such occasions.

Grant Rogers ran away at a time when no one was prepared or deliberately approaching the location where Henry was talking to him.

Perhaps there were some signs that Henry didn't notice. It's just that, without the help of his eyes, his ability to control his surroundings had decreased considerably.

A short while later, a group of people who seemed out of place at this capitalist gathering appeared in the hall. They looked around for a moment, then walked directly toward where Henry was sitting.

The leader wasn't very agile, but he must have been of high status. There were two or three burly men behind him, who followed his lead.

He was dressed in a very standard black suit. Upon meeting Henry, he extended his hand and greeted him, "Mr. Henry Brown, I am John Garrett. It's been a long time since I've finally met you."

"Hello, Mr. Garrett," Henry responded to the handshake and offered a brief and polite greeting.

Another John. It seems the day when we collect all seven John isn't far off. But what Henry is really thinking is that this guy seems to be a high- Snake S.H.I.E.L.D.. Is Snake Shield. finally going to make their move?

The reason I'm here to see you today is actually related to your past.

"My past?" Henry immediately had a bad feeling. Was this S.H.I.E.L.D.. going to settle scores later? Or had his identity as a transmigrator been exposed?

The latter was even less likely to happen. Henry hadn't expected that, as a time traveler, he had any way of being exposed.

As for their alien identity, it was no secret long before the Skrulls came to Earth to cause trouble. Henry didn't believe that with Nick Fury, that big mouth, he could still keep this secret.

Since he still had cards to play, the worst-case scenario was simply that he had to use them. Henry, of course, had no extra worries and calmly said, "There's nothing much to say about my past; it's bland and uninteresting. Is it necessary to delve into it?"

"Please come with me. There are some people you want to meet. Once you see them, you'll understand everything. They're in another small conference room."

Is this a trap?

Unfortunately, having lost his sight, Henry couldn't confirm the situation in the other small rooms around the meeting hall. Even with his Super Hearing, he could only hear some low conversations in Russian.

An absurd possibility surfaced in his mind, causing Henry to stand still, unwilling to cooperate at all.

Seeing this, John Garrett, though not uttering a threat, raised his voice slightly. He said, "Mr. Brown, we went to great lengths to get Ms. Carter to arrange this meeting, so we'd better not waste her good intentions. What do you say?"

For Henry, this wasn't just about saving face for Peggy Carter, but also for Tony Stark, the young master. It wasn't appropriate for him to simply turn around and leave.

Furthermore, saying you don't want to know who those Russian-speaking, somewhat familiar-sounding people are is just deceiving yourself.

"Please lead the way." Henry responded positively and followed the Snake S.H.I.E.L.D.. agent, only to see the "surprise" they had prepared for him.

Because it's an old-style commercial building, it doesn't use transparent partitions like glass, unlike some places that emphasize openness, which can create an unhealthy sense of openness. The heaviness of the concrete walls undoubtedly foreshadows a slightly unpleasant surprise for the upcoming meeting.

When Henry followed John Garrett into the small meeting room next to the Stark Industries semi-annual meeting venue, there were no tacky welcoming ceremonies like ribbons, balloons, or firecrackers. Instead, there were only two distinct groups of people, divided into two small groups.

The smaller group of men in black suits were complaining about their jobs, like a group of office workers chatting idly.

The other group was dressed in a much more casual and simple manner. They looked around with unease, and occasionally some of them whispered among themselves.

Upon seeing this group of people, Henry's unbearable memories flooded back. Twenty-three people, both men and women, from the underground research institute in Siberia during the pre -Red Empire era, were standing right before him.
