Secret Factory

Henry had thought he had found the Green Goblin's secret base. Unfortunately, he had only found a secret Oscorp factory.

Judging by the nuclear radiation symbols and warning signs visible everywhere, the place probably stored large quantities of sealed nuclear waste or raw materials.

Henry switched the Sparrow Spy Drone's view to a Geiger counter. Sure enough, while the entire environment was not severely over the limit, the routes used to transport radioactive materials were clearly marked.

Watching workers in protective suits bustle around massive machinery, Henry guessed from the equipment's appearance that this was a secret tritium production plant. It might also have been developing new technology.

As the most important raw material for nuclear fusion projects, tritium was indispensable whether one wanted to build hydrogen bombs, advance fusion research, or ultimately achieve commercially viable fusion power generation.

Because tritium had a half-life of only 12.33 years, no natural tritium remained on Earth. Only when high-energy neutrons from cosmic rays happened to pass through Earth and strike deuterium nuclei could extremely tiny amounts of tritium be produced.

But collecting those tritium nuclei scattered throughout the atmosphere was extremely difficult. Scientists estimated that only a few kilograms of tritium might exist on the entire planet at any one time. Thus, all tritium used on Earth was artificially synthesized.

The factory Henry had discovered was very likely Oscorp's secret manufacturing base. No wonder security here was so tight.

Besides being an important raw material for hydrogen bombs, tritium's production safety concerns and its steep price of thirty thousand per gram meant that once this factory was exposed, it would face threats ranging from protests by nearby residents to sabotage by hostile forces.

Suppressing the urge to come here himself and make off with some loot, Henry carefully guided the spy drone
