The Asian man who had abruptly appeared on the battlefield hovered in midair, several palm-sized metal rings floating around him. He had no fear of becoming a target, because every bullet fired at him was deflected by the rapidly moving rings.
Two rings hovered beneath him on either side, positioned under his feet as though they were extensions of them, allowing him to look down upon the U.S. military's Mutant soldiers from above.
When he landed, the four rings mimicking his feet even knocked two men over. Now, it was as if he stood atop two Mutants, surveying everything on the battlefield while ignoring their cries for help beneath him.
The groans of their comrades grated on everyone's nerves. Every soldier aimed their guns at this man who was practically a living target and unleashed their firepower without restraint. Some even felt that wasn't enough and fired grenade launchers directly at him.
Yet the firepower of modern weapons was calmly blocked by those wondrous Ten Rings. The bullets fired from their rifles seemed like little paper balls, weaker even than BB pellets, utterly incapable of harming him.
Some ran out of rifle ammunition and switched to pistols, continuing to fire while angrily cursing, "Ah, you damned terrorist!"
"Me? A terrorist?" The remaining six rings suddenly jolted outward! The shockwave they unleashed knocked everyone to the ground. "To this land, you are the invaders. And I am the hero protecting it."
