A potential of sixty-six had already saved him a lot of trouble. He only needed to raise Magneton's potential to ninety before evolving it into Magnezone.

Potential above ninety was enough for Magnezone to grow to Champion level. Whether it could even reach level ninety in its lifetime was uncertain. Above ninety was enough, though if he still was not reassured, he could make it ninety-nine.

There were also its Abilities. In fact, the three Magnemite had all three Abilities: Magnet Pull, Analytic, and Sturdy.

Magnet Pull prevented non-Ghost-type Steel-type Pokémon from escaping, preventing them from switching out or fleeing.

Sturdy made one-hit knockout moves ineffective against Pokémon with this Ability. When a Pokémon with this Ability was at full health, it would retain at least one point of health after taking an attack.

Analytic increased the power of a move by thirty percent if the other Pokémon acted before it.

After roughly looking over the three Abilities, he eliminated Sturdy.

Sturdy was not very useful in battle. There were too many ways to counter it, and Magnezone would not be one-shot anyway. Unless it encountered an enemy vastly stronger than itself, there would be no point fighting at all, and Sturdy would still be useless.

That left Magnet Pull and Analytic. Magnet Pull was similar to Shadow Tag, but its scope was limited to Steel-types, making it too narrow.
