Lu Zheng stayed in Sea City for another three days, just in time to spend a pleasant weekend with Lin Wan.
Early Monday morning, after washing up, it was time for Lin Wan to go to work and for Lu Zheng to cross over.
"You cross over first. Once you're sure everything's fine over there, I'll leave." Lin Wan held Lu Zheng's arm and earnestly reminded him, "Be extremely careful. If anything feels wrong, come back immediately. I found several locations in the International Criminal Police database where the Russians maintain nuclear weapons..."
"Cough, cough, cough!"
Lu Zheng nearly choked on his own saliva. "No need, no need. Besides, nuclear weapons might not necessarily work against that Black Sea Bream."
"Better prepared than caught unawares!" Lin Wan said seriously.
"Don't worry." Lu Zheng nodded, took the fish scale from his gourd and set it aside, then smiled faintly at Lin Wan before vanishing in an instant.
In the living room, Lin Wan widened her eyes and stared fixedly at the spot where Lu Zheng had disappeared.
One, two, three, four...
About ten seconds later, Lu Zheng appeared again.
