Lin Wan is from Lai City, Lu Province. Her father, Lin Chaoyang, was a Lai City City Bureau police officer who died in the line of duty twenty years earlier; her mother, Wang Lifen, works in the logistics department of the Lai City Water Affairs Bureau. At eighteen, Lin Wan entered Hai City Public Security University and, after graduating with excellent grades, was specially recruited into the Hai City City Bureau. 1005

Before meeting Lu Zheng, she was already a capable criminal investigator who exercised and practiced Sanda with Huang Xiumin. Her work first brings her into contact with Lu Zheng during investigations surrounding Li Yanjie and later Liu Yifan. 25 34 45

While investigating Liu Yifan’s suspected crimes, Lin Wan is severely injured in a suspicious car accident and loses feeling in her legs.
