Yukino, when talking about her best friend, became a little flustered.
Hmm, Yui might look like an idiot, but sometimes she's incredibly sharp.
Yukino suddenly mentioning Yui made Hachiman feel a bit troubled.
"Well, I can't think of anything right now. Also, don't get her a gift this time. We'll buy one when her birthday actually comes around."
Hachiman pondered for a moment before continuing, "If it were anyone else, it might be a bit difficult, but Yui is easy to get along with, so you don't need to worry."
"Is that so? Perhaps I'm just too anxious."
"After all, you and Yui are the two most important people to me."
Yukino's mood seemed a bit down. For Yukino, Yui was, besides Hachiman, the most important person.
Seeing this, Hachiman walked over to Yukino, leaned down, and gently hugged the girl who had been alone before meeting him and Yui.
Just as she appeared, Hachiman felt a pang of heartache at the slender figure in his arms.
He stroked Yukino's back, smoothing her spine from top to bottom like petting a kitten.
As Hachiman's hand gradually slid down to her tailbone, the stimulation caused Yukino to jolt and break free from his embrace, clutching her backside and rubbing it gently.
"If you take advantage of me like this again, I'll kick you, you know."
Yukino, her face flushed with embarrassment, stretched out her delicate foot. Her slender toes wriggled restlessly in her sandals, making Hachiman's throat suddenly feel dry.
Forcibly suppressing the urge within him, Hachiman said to Yukino, "Let's go if you're done eating."
Yukino then linked her arm through Hachiman's and they walked out.
As they walked down the street, Yukino tugged on Hachiman's arm and glanced towards a nearby lingerie store. "I want to buy some..."
"Huh? Then go ahead. I'll wait for you outside."
Hachiman looked at the wary eyes of the store clerk inside and his sense of shame won out.
"No... if you don't come in with me, who will help me see if it looks good?"
Yukino said softly, embarrassed.
The store clerk kept looking at Hachiman as if he were a pervert. Hachiman silently took out his glasses case from his pocket and put them on.
Ignoring the clerk's astonished gaze, Hachiman, instantly transforming from a listless delinquent with dead fish eyes to a sunny, warm guy, pulled Yukino inside.
He said to a sales assistant who approached them, "We're just looking around. We'll call you when we want to buy something."
After browsing with Yukino in the store, Yukino, holding a stack of bras and panties she liked, gracefully entered the fitting room.
Hachiman stood at the door, hearing the rustling sounds of changing clothes from inside, and felt his mind wander. Just as he was lost in thoughts of the alluring scenery within, a snow-white arm, like a lotus root, pulled him in.
Once Hachiman regained his balance, he saw Yukino, completely naked except for a pale pink lingerie set.
At this moment, she crossed her arms to cover her chest and folded her thighs inward, trying to conceal her private parts.
Hachiman's gaze drifted downwards, but he couldn't see the blackness behind the pale pink fabric, leading Hachiman to a bold guess.
As Hachiman's naked gaze swept over her body, wherever it passed, Yukino felt a burning sensation in the corresponding area.
Hachiman panted, staring at the person before him. Though still immature, her small breasts were perfectly graspable, her waist slender enough to be broken by a strong gust of wind, and her thighs plump and white.
By the time Hachiman and Yukino came out of the lingerie store, Hachiman was unable to think. His mind was filled with all sorts of inappropriate images.
Hachiman slapped his own cheeks, trying to calm himself down.
Just then, his phone in his pocket suddenly rang. Hachiman picked up his phone and saw that it was Komachi.
"Onii-chan, are you guys done yet? Komachi is already waiting at the movie theater entrance."
"We'll be right there, Yukino and I. Did you buy the movie tickets?" Hachiman confirmed with Komachi on the phone.
"Hee hee hee, don't worry about Komachi's work, Onii-chan. How are you and Sister Yukino doing?" Even through the phone, Hachiman could sense Komachi's teasing tone.
"Well, how should I put it... it's okay, we're both happy," Hachiman stammered.
"It seems Onii-chan had a very pleasant afternoon~ Hurry up and come over, the movie is about to start soon," Komachi urged Hachiman.
By the time Hachiman and Yukino arrived and took the movie tickets from Komachi, they were already checking tickets to enter.
Hachiman didn't pay attention to the tickets in his hand and hurriedly pulled Yukino into the theater.
When the two found their seats, they discovered Komachi sitting directly above them, smiling at them.
"Why are you sitting there?"
Hachiman asked Komachi.
"Because there were no adjacent seats left," Komachi winked playfully at Hachiman.
Seeing that the theater was less than half full, and looking at the grinning Komachi before him, Hachiman sighed helplessly.
As the movie progressed, perhaps due to boredom, Hachiman's eyes gradually closed, and he eventually fell asleep, leaning on Yukino's shoulder.
When the movie ended, Hachiman was gently nudged by Yukino, and he slowly regained consciousness. He looked at Komachi, who had a look of disappointment, and Yukino, who was rubbing her shoulder, and said groggily, "Ah... did I fall asleep?"
"Hachiman-kun slept very soundly."
Yukino rubbed her sore shoulders and said irritably.
"Maybe it's because the movie was too boring... hehe..." Hachiman chuckled dryly.
As they walked out with the rest of the departing audience, Hachiman turned back and waved at Yukino. "Yukino, see you at the Service Club tomorrow?"
"Mm, see you tomorrow, Hachiman-kun."
"Also, I had a really good time today~" Yukino smiled, responding to Hachiman.
With that, Yukino turned and walked towards her home. Her silhouette in the twilight looked even more beautiful, captivating Hachiman.
Chapter 12: The Unraveled Heart
Hachiman yawned as he walked into the classroom. After spending the entire day shopping with Yukino yesterday, Komachi had then dragged him into a long card game.
It was already past one in the morning when Komachi, yawning, declared she was going to sleep. Yet, Hachiman, upon closing his eyes, could only recall Yukino's blushing smile and her alluring figure in just her undergarments.
And so, Hachiman Hikigaya, the philosopher of solitude, experienced a rare bout of insomnia.
When he finally regained consciousness, he was mortified to discover that his underwear was damp with the deoxyribonucleic acid that had "escaped" due to some unspeakable dream.
"Yo, Hikki, how was your weekend?"
As soon as Hachiman put his bag down, Yui bounced over, waving and greeting him.
"Oh, hello. This weekend was... pretty much the same as usual."
"How about you? How have you been?"
Hachiman, unsure how to act around Yui, who knew nothing of yesterday's events, decided to conceal his date with Yukino.
"Same as usual? What does that mean... were you just at home the whole time?"
Yui tapped her cheek and chirped cheerfully, "Me? Same old, same old. Walking the dog, going to karaoke with friends and stuff."
"Hikki, you should go out and interact with people more. You seem a little gloomy these days."
Yui poked Hachiman's cheek. Her finger, adorned with pink nail polish, looked a little chubby due to her owner's ample figure.
Hachiman, described as gloomy by Yui, didn't say much. He quietly took out the plain glasses Yukino had given him from his bag and put them on. Seeing Yui's shocked expression, Hachiman shrugged and took them off.
"No way, no way~ That wasn't real, was it? I must be dreaming. Hikki could never be this sunny."
Yui shrieked as if she had witnessed something unbelievable.
"Who knows? Maybe you are dreaming. Also, are you going to the Service Club after school today?" Hachiman looked up, gazing into Yui's beautiful red eyes.
"Huh? Did something happen that I shouldn't know about?" Yui asked, puzzled.
"Nothing much. I was just wondering if you were going. Also~ Yukino mentioned you when we were chatting."
Hachiman leaned to the side, one hand on the back of his chair, the other propping up his face.
"Eh~ Really? What did Little Snow say about me?" Yui's eyes sparkled as she curiously asked Hachiman.
"She said you're too forward."
Hachiman said without mincing words.
"Hmph, Little Snow is so mean!" Yui puffed out her cheeks like a hamster. However, Hachiman couldn't detect any anger on her face; instead, there was a unique sense of delight.
"Well, Yukino saying that actually means she considers you a friend." Hachiman shamelessly conned the silly Yui.
"Really? It feels like Hikki knows Little Snow really well."
Yui eyed Hachiman suspiciously.
"Uh... is that so? Perhaps people of the same kind are uniquely drawn to each other."
Hachiman waved his hand. His strong mental fortitude made his expression unreadable, showing no cracks.
However, Yui wasn't satisfied with Hachiman's answer. Frowning, she was about to question him when the bell for class rang. She could only glare fiercely at Hachiman before turning back to her seat.
At Sobu High School, physical education classes for three classes were combined. Sixty male students were divided between soccer and tennis. Due to being hit by Yukino's family's luxury car on the first day of his first year, Hachiman had fractured his left leg.
Therefore, Hachiman had no interest in soccer. After all, how could Hachiman, who couldn't even find a partner for tennis practice, play a passionate game of soccer with others?
Using his physical discomfort and the excuse of causing trouble for others, Hachiman secured the opportunity to practice hitting the ball alone against the wall. Just as Hachiman thought he would spend this PE class idly, he spotted the Hayama group in the adjacent tennis court.
Sensing the various shouts and yells from his surroundings, Hachiman sighed helplessly. Don't these people know that can disturb others?
As he was thinking this, Hayama hit a sliced shot wildly, sending the ball rolling to Hachiman's feet. "Hachiman-kun, could you throw it back to us?"
Without even bothering to correct Hayama's pronunciation, Hachiman lazily picked up the tennis ball at his feet and tossed it behind him.
Ignoring Hayama's thanks, Hachiman continued his intense tennis duel with the wall.
When the bell rang, Hachiman's long-awaited lunch break finally arrived. After buying his usual bread from the convenience store, Hachiman sat down on the slope behind it. He then noticed Yui standing not far away, watching the match on the tennis court.
Seemingly noticing Hachiman's gaze, Yui turned around.
"Eh~ What a coincidence, Hikki!"
Yui greeted Hachiman while running towards him. It had to be said, despite being described many times, Ms. Yui running still showcased her ample bust.
"What are you doing here~?" Yui asked Hachiman, her face beaming with joy.
"Besides the rooftop, this is where I eat. No strange outsiders show up here."
"Eh~ Is Hikki talking about me?" Yui's large, misty red eyes revealed a hint of hurt.
"No, I didn't mean that at all," Hachiman mumbled, his mouth full of bread. "Why are you here?"
"Ah, it's Little Snow! She asked me to come down and buy some juice for her."
Because Yukino doesn't know how to use a vending machine, Hachiman thought, looking at Yui, who seemed to want to say something but hesitated. "If you have something to say, just say it. Doesn't it hurt to keep it bottled up?"
"Mm..." Yui bit her lip, as if making a decision. "Hikki... you were absent for three weeks in your first year, weren't you?"
"Ah, what about it?"
Hachiman sighed inwardly, already guessing what the girl in front of him wanted to say. "Is it about how I got hit by the Yukino family's car and broke my left leg, ending up in the hospital for three weeks, after saving a dog that had broken free from its leash?"
"Huh? Little Snow's car?" Yui looked shocked upon hearing this.
"Yeah, I found out when I was talking to her. What's wrong?"
"That... is it really that much of a coincidence?" Yui fiddled with the hem of her skirt, looking conflicted.
"You mean you were the owner of that dog?" Hachiman smirked. "So you guessed it after all." Yui seemed to relax completely. "Yeah, Hikki is so smart, how could he not have guessed."
"I've known for a long time."
"So, you knew it was me all along... but you still treated me like that?"
"What does that matter? I volunteered back then, so you don't need to feel guilty about it."
Hachiman smiled at Yui.
"But, I always feel like it's my fault that Hikki has no friends..." Yui's face was filled with self-reproach.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Don't I still have you and Yukino?"
"Mmm~ Looking at it that way, all my friends are beautiful girls~"
"Pfft, Hikki, you're so shameless. Who said they were your friends?" Yui burst out laughing at Hachiman's brazen remark.
