Background / History
More than two centuries before Yang Qing reached the Ziwei Star Domain, Ji Xukong arrived there from beyond the domain. He rapidly defeated the star domain's prodigies, left behind numerous legends, and departed into the cosmic starry sky. Many regarded him as destined to achieve Dao in that lifetime. 16 17
His rise on the Human Race's Strongest Trial Ancient Road eclipsed the prodigies of his generation. He defeated every challenger, crossed the Nine Emperor Passes, and became the undisputed pinnacle of that era's Emperor's Road. 23
Ji Xukong became a Quasi-Emperor after more than three hundred years of cultivation. Though celebrated as a peerless genius, Yang Qing's cultivation pace—reaching Quasi-Emperor at twenty-two—still shocked him profoundly. 25
At 501 years old, Ji Xukong faced the Great Emperor Tribulation at the desolate edge of the universe. Yang Qing guarded the area, deterring the Forbidden Zones of Life from intervening. Ji Xukong completed his final transformation, integrated the Heavenly Heart Seal, and became the Void Emperor. 40

Personality
Ji Xukong is composed and restrained; Yang Qing initially finds his serene presence seemingly impossible to disturb. However, he openly expresses delight when confronted with exceptional talent and turns Yang Qing's unprecedented cultivation speed into motivation rather than resentment. 25 69
He considers himself inferior to no one and continually seeks greater strength, even after proving Dao. Yang Qing's advances pressure him, but also sharpen his determination to improve and fulfill his long-standing goal of eliminating the Forbidden Zones of Life. 69 76 235
His sense of duty to the Human Race is central to his decisions. He refuses to pursue personal immortality at the cost of his responsibilities, repeatedly confronts Supreme Beings, and condemns them for the suffering caused by the Great Dark Upheavals. 82 182
