After stepping out of the distorted vortex, Obito glanced at Nagato behind Konan and said in a teasing tone, "Failed again, just as expected!"
Konan frowned, her expression cold. "Hmph, didn't you fail on your end too?! You expended so much of the organization's manpower and got nothing in return. You have no right to sneer at us here!"
"Is that so..." Obito chuckled softly before continuing, "You don't need to worry about the Jinchuriki. I've already taken them!"
Obito, who had mastered space-time ninjutsu, returned to Konoha almost at the same time as Hyuga Kagami. Yet Nagato did not respond to Konan's question. He was clearly still immersed in the shadow of his recent defeat.
Konan sighed inwardly, then turned back to Obito and sternly said, "Hand over the Jinchuriki. They belong to Nagato!"
Although she sensed a faint hostility from Obito, Nagato was still in fairly good condition thanks to their timely retreat. Thus, Konan remained extremely forceful and showed no fear of Obito whatsoever.
Obito, however, examined the somewhat dazed Nagato with interest. "In his current state, is he still qualified to lead the organization?"
Konan's gaze turned cold. "You want to rebel?"
As soon as Konan finished speaking, the Hiruko Human Puppet standing beside Nagato surged with chakra. It
