Standing silently beside Obito was another person.
This person was Hyuga Aoki, who had hurriedly defected from Konoha not long ago. However, judging from how he stood calmly without relying on any external support, the one here might not have been his long-disabled real body, but a puppet nearly identical to him, lifelike enough to resemble a living person.
Clearly, after cooperating with Akatsuki, Hyuga Aoki had received their technical support and acquired puppets far more powerful than any he had possessed before.
Activating the Byakugan in his eye sockets, Hyuga Aoki observed from afar for a while before smiling. "Looks like the choice for the Fifth Hokage has been revealed!"
The Byakugan in this puppet's eye sockets were undoubtedly the pair of high-purity Byakugan Hyuga Aoki had obtained when he murdered the Main Branch elder guarding the secret vault.
However, the distance was simply too great. Even with the high purity of those Byakugan, he could not make out who had won and become the Fifth Hokage. He could only judge from the commotion within the village that the candidate had been decided.
Obito glanced at Hyuga Aoki beside him. "Who do you think it is?"
"It should be your Uchiha, right?" After a pause, Hyuga Aoki wore a mocking expression. "After all, the village would never let a watchdog whose life was controlled by others sit in the Hokage's seat. There's no question about that!"
Though his tone was mocking, Hyuga Aoki's expression was utterly certain.
As a
