Arc 3The Village’s Shifting Balance
Shin helped Konoha handle the war’s aftermath while managing the Police Force, the orphanage, and growing tensions between the Uchiha and Root. As the Chunin Exam approached, he also responded to Yahiko and wondered whether the exam would bring trouble.
- Fugaku introduced Shin to his family and proposed recruiting villagers outside the Uchiha Clan to fill the Police Force, while Shin anticipated another war for Konoha.
- Kakashi, Keiji, and Hayama rescued Rin from Kirigakure’s plot to make her a Three-Tails Jinchuriki, while Orochimaru captured Obito and brought him back to Konoha.
- Shin removed Rin’s curse mark, arranged support and training for children at the orphanage, and freed Yakushi Nonō from her Root seal.
- Fugaku and Shin struggled over Root’s presence in the Police Force, while Fugaku urged the Uchiha to serve villagers and avoid violence.
- Orochimaru restored Obito’s arm, Kakashi joined Shin’s Anbu squad, and Guy later won a duel that led Shin to consider him for the Anbu.
- Shin accepted Orochimaru’s plan to experiment on human bodies using orphanage children, while offering to resolve the Uchiha Clan’s demand for Kakashi’s Sharingan.
- Fugaku appealed to Sarutobi over the Uchiha’s treatment, and Sarutobi promised to protect innocent people and urged Fugaku to keep leading the Police Force.
- Shinichi sent Yahiko a reply and toxin-sealing vials, then agreed with Fugaku and Danzo to defer discussion of the Uchiha estate until after the coming Chunin Exam.
