Background / History

At its peak over a thousand years ago, the Yin Corpse Sect spread terror throughout the Southern Region. Its members slaughtered people, harvested blood, and refined powerful cultivators into corpse puppets. Major Southern Region powers ultimately united against it; the war lasted more than a decade before the sect’s main force was destroyed. 32

The sect was never fully eliminated. Lower- and middle-ranking disciples scattered, established hidden branches, and continued recruiting through coercion or inducement. These remnants sought to restore the sect’s former dominance rather than remain hunted fugitives. 32 108

Its operations expanded across multiple regions. Remnants infiltrated forces within the Great Zhou Dynasty, occupied commanderies, cooperated with the Great Chu and Great Wu dynasties, and later fought campaigns in Nanyuan, Cangnan, and Beihai Prefectures. 340 346 937 956

Corpse Puppetry and Refinement

The sect specializes in turning corpses of powerful cultivators into battle servants. Corpse Puppets possess high durability, feel no pain, and can continue fighting until their cores or internal formation patterns are destroyed. 32 349

Beihai Prefecture Resurgence

The sect first appears through remnants attacking Heavenly Sword Sect disciples He Yushi and Li Ji. Its members use a Fourth-tier puppet, the Faceless Corpse, and several lesser corpse puppets, but Jiang Chen intervenes and kills multiple attackers. 32

The remnants later massacre villagers and fight the City Lord’s Mansion. Their force includes thirteen Martial Grandmaster Realm experts, led in the field by Jing Feng, a Seventh Level Martial Grandmaster. 96

When the Heavenly Sword Sect attacks a town used by the sect, Chen Ren and two Martial King Realm companions retreat into the settlement and prepare an ambush supported by three Fifth-tier Corpse Puppets. 102

Underground Secret Cave Operation

Shao Yang’s Beihai faction gathers blood to complete ten Sixth-tier Spirit Corpses and launches surprise attacks against major sect squads entering its territory. 113

Inside the underground secret cave, the sect uses traps, blocked passages, corpse puppets, and a divide-and-conquer strategy. Shao Yang’s forces kill roughly one thousand sect-alliance members, including a Martial Emperor Realm expert from the Hunyuan Sect. 120 127

Occupation of the Three Commanderies

The Yin Corpse Sect resurfaces openly and seizes Shifeng, Da'an, and Heyun Commanderies. Two prefectures surrender after infiltration, while Da'an Prefecture is massacred for resisting. 340

Jiang Chen destroys eight Da'an strongholds in ten days, forcing the sect’s remaining forces to gather in Da'an Prefecture City. 346

During the ensuing campaign, Tang Dongfeng deploys the Soul Fiend Corpse, but Jiang Chen and the allied army kill Tang Dongfeng and other top experts. The sect’s forces suffer a crushing defeat and retreat. 359 363 370

Black Yin Secret Realm Incident

The sect reveals that the Black Yin Secret Realm is its corpse-raising territory, stocked with bodies intended to become Yin Corpses and future battle servants. 758 761

After Jiang Chen’s conflict with Gu Wei, Yin Corpse Sect Martial Saint Realm experts enter through alternative entrances and massacre participating Martial Venerable Realm geniuses while searching for Jiang Chen. 766
