Background / History

Lin Yan met An Xinghe in the Fairy Tale Mutation instance. Initially alarmed that his teammate was only Level 8, Lin Yan proudly introduced himself as a Level 17 player with Fine-grade Equipment. His confidence was quickly challenged by An Xinghe’s far greater resources and combat ability. 21

During their early travels, Lin Yan fought using his common-grade Nine-Ringed Saber but was outmatched by a Hunter until An Xinghe intervened. He nevertheless captured the Hunter and attempted an interrogation. 22

Lin Yan received the transferred Protagonist Halo in the Beastman Empire, allowing him to pursue the objective of awakening Sleeping Beauty. The experience in the Pig Race area later left him gaunt and traumatized; after escaping the Orcs’ Royal Capital with An Xinghe, the two agreed to team up in future instances. 38 40

After his original guild dissolved over a dispute concerning Fine-grade Equipment, Lin Yan accepted An Xinghe’s invitation to join Spreading Fire. An Xinghe gave him the Fine-grade Ghost Head Saber and Metal Reflection Armor, greatly improving his equipment. 121
