Shouts and the clatter of armor from running soldiers blended into one roar as a large group of elf warriors surrounded an iron-black carriage, remaining on high alert.
The carriage was slightly tilted. The three unicorns pulling it had been blasted into bloody pulp, their torn hides and flesh stuck to the front half of the carriage. Steam rose from them in the faintly cool early morning of late summer, along with the stench of blood.
