Drip, drip~
Wet, cold, blue-glowing blood dripped from the edge of the dining table. A huge sea-monster's head sat atop it. Its features faintly resembled those of Imperial Guard Commander Arle. Within those frozen, ghostly blue pupils was not cruelty, but bewilderment.
Arle himself had probably never expected that, after mutating into a monster, he would die so quickly—and so gruesomely. His head was still intact, but his body was evenly spread across the surrounding walls, with part of it devoured by Zayas. In his own words, it tasted awful, with a strong dead-fish flavor.
Su Xiao flicked the glowing blue blood from his knife. Killing Arle had not taken much effort, but the Imperial Guard Commander's years of cultivation had gone to waste. After mutating into a monster, he had gained an extremely troublesome ability.
Although Arle's blood and bodily fluids were not corrosive, they were invasive. After mutating, he had become especially adept at spitting out a glowing blue bodily fluid.
This fluid was slightly viscous. Once it touched someone, they would suffer an abnormal status called Blood Silt.
This abnormal status was terrifying. Once afflicted, one's vitality recovery would be reduced, weakness and temporary aging would follow, and one's movement would slow increasingly over time. All attributes would also be temporarily reduced.
Once the invasion level exceeded 50%, irreversible mutations would appear in the body. After exceeding 100%, the victim would completely mutate into a monster.
Worse still, this abnormal status would not disappear on its own. Its effects would continue deepening as time passed.
Simply put, after suffering this abnormal status, if it could not be removed within an hour, the victim would eventually become so weak that even walking would be difficult. Encountering an enemy would mean certain death.
By investigating Arle's data, Su Xiao
