Rustling sounds came from above. Having just been teleported through Reincarnation Paradise, Su Xiao felt a phantom pain in the back of his head, as though he had been struck by a heavy hammer. But just then, a sense of danger suddenly swept over him.
With a crack, Su Xiao's crystal-coated right hand seized an arm-length carapaced creature. Only after that did he abruptly open his eyes.
A creature resembling a lizard, but covered entirely in ocher-yellow carapace, came into view. Even with Su Xiao gripping it in one hand, it continued struggling desperately from side to side, its movements incredibly forceful.
As the strange lizard struggled, it made a hissing noise. Its sharp jaws twisted as far to the side as possible, trying to bite Su Xiao's hand with its mouthful of fangs.
Crack!
The strange lizard's body stiffened as Su Xiao crushed its carapace and bones. But in the next instant, three black worms suddenly drilled out of its flesh and shot toward Su Xiao's face. They had round mouthparts lined with layers of teeth like miniature saw blades. Their bodies were covered in dark-red barbs, and their pointed tips were filled with malice toward burrowing into the flesh of other creatures.
Su Xiao tilted his head. With three snapping sounds, the black worms sank into the sand wall behind him. They then swam through the sand. One of them poked out a section of its body and unfolded its layered mouthparts.
"Roar!!"
Layers of black shock waves spread through the surroundings. Though the waves were not particularly strong, they still sent ripples through the air.
In the end, the three black worms burrowed deep into the sand wall and disappeared. Beside Su Xiao, Bubu Wang had witnessed everything from start to finish and was left utterly stunned.
