The South District had once been the most chaotic area of Dawnlight City. After Xia Yin was elected city lord, the district's black-market industries and gangs suffered a devastating blow. Years of governance later, in last year's district security assessment after the Rain Festival, the South District achieved the outstanding result of ranking second among Dawnlight City's 26 districts.

The early morning sunlight shone in through the gap between the curtains. The city lord's secretary, Yuna, lay sideways in bed, wrapped in her quilt and enjoying the comfort of refusing to get up. Her mother's knocking, along with her increasingly irritable tone that was about to reveal her maternal affection, forced her to rise.
