Grievous Monk

Su Xiao was standing with his back to the young monk. The young monk stuck out his tongue and licked the blood that had trickled onto his lips. Upon seeing the blood, a red light flickered in the center of his pupils.

Without making any visible movement, the young monk vanished from where he stood and lunged at Su Xiao like a cannonball fired from its barrel. He was incredibly fast, yet utterly silent.

With a pfft, five sharp claws sprouted from the young monk's fingertips, resembling an eagle's talons.

The five claws gleamed with a metallic sheen as they reached straight for the back of Su Xiao's head. If Su Xiao were caught by them, counterattacking would be difficult.

The claws came silently. The young monk's mouth split into a grin, as if he could already see himself tearing his enemy's spine out alive.

Su Xiao tilted his head slightly. Dragon Slayer Flash appeared in his hand, while an Energy Shield with a strength of 50 materialized behind him.

Crack!

The five claws pierced straight through the Energy Shield. Although the shield had been penetrated, it had not shattered.

Realizing that his strike had failed, the young monk immediately sensed that something was wrong. His thought of devouring this human's flesh alone vanished, and he immediately tried to shout.

The Energy Shield disappeared. A flash of blade light suddenly appeared as Su Xiao spun around and struck.

The young monk immediately raised his claws to meet Dragon Slayer Flash. He could actually keep up with Su Xiao's speed.

The blade struck the first claw, severing it instantly. Then came the second, and the third.

Clang.

Three claws were sent flying. The young monk's eyes widened in pain.

"Inva—"

Before he could shout the word "invader," Su Xiao spun around
