"Where exactly did Lieutenant Nawick go?"
Conners paced irritably around the tent, his face flushed red as he anxiously asked one of the soldiers left behind:
"He took half the soldiers away without saying a word. He didn't even bother notifying us."
"Damn it, do you know what's happening? A huge horde of Zombies suddenly showed up outside, and now we can't even find anyone to discuss this with."
He was a Raider who had joined them halfway through. He had more than a dozen brothers under him, all former members of city gangs. He had originally thought that following the army would bring them plenty of benefits, but now the soldiers had taken the lion's share of the supplies. Whenever they wanted to indulge themselves a little, they were always stopped. There were all sorts of damn rules here, making life extremely uncomfortable for these thugs.
The soldier left behind looked somewhat embarrassed. Stammering, he replied:
"There's been a special situation outside. Lieutenant Nawick took some men to deal with it. He should be back soon."
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Gunshots suddenly rang out, instantly filling the camp with tension.
Conners knew there was no point saying anything else to this big soldier. He was about to complain a little more when he suddenly heard scattered gunfire outside, and his heart tightened.
He glared at the soldier left behind, grabbed his rifle, and rushed to the outskirts of the camp.
The Fesir Town camp had been established inside a Toy Factory. Low walls protected three sides of the perimeter, leaving only the gap in the front that needed to be defended against the Zombies.
