Background / History

Alicia was not a human who later became a Herrscher: she was always one. As the Herrscher of Origin, she descended in what was later called the “zeroth” Honkai event, near Vostok-51. Her arrival went undetected by the early Moth of the Fire, while Honkai disease rates and ambient Honkai energy in the area gradually declined. Su attributed the anomaly to Alicia’s unconscious influence. 281 282 761

Though inherently a Herrscher, Alicia grew up among humans and considered herself a child of humanity. The nun and orphanage director Mother Cecilia gave her a warm childhood and encouraged her wish to travel the world at a young age. During her journey, Alicia encountered both human kindness and cruelty, but chose to value humanity’s goodness. 152 153 281

She became one of Moth of the Fire’s central warriors and provided direct or indirect assistance in humanity’s victories against successive Honkai disasters before the creation of fusion warriors. Her status as a Herrscher remained unnoticed because her innate affinity caused others to overlook abnormalities surrounding her. 147 282

After the crises caused by the Thousand-Man, Constraint, and Erosion Herrschers shattered morale, Alicia chose to reveal herself as the Thirteenth Herrscher. She intended to place herself against humanity so that a campaign against her—and her apparent death—could unite the world and restore hope. Her closest allies, including Kevin, refused to truly attack her, turning the supposed campaign into a farewell arranged around her sacrifice. 44

Alicia’s sacrifice gave later Herrschers the opportunity to possess independent will and choose their own paths rather than remain Honkai puppets. Finality arrived afterward, descending upon the Moon. 47 761
