Before they had the Heaven-Deceiving Earth-Changing Pill, the Immortal Emperors of the Heaven Annihilation Alliance had been severely suppressed in the Land of Ending. Their opponents, the Devil Race and the Heavenly Slaves, suffered no such suppression. With the World Will bolstering them, they grew even stronger.
As one side waned and the other waxed, the gap in strength between them was vast.
Now that they had the Heaven-Deceiving Earth-Changing Pill, that gap had narrowed considerably.

Fang Chen followed his finger and saw enormous cracks stretching across the horizon.
The earth looked as though some terrifying force had torn it apart, leaving chasms too deep to see the bottom.
A dark red glow flickered within them. Magma surged up from deep underground, mingled with shattered Law Fragments and giving off suffocating heat.
The gray-white sky grew darker, and the clouds hung so low they almost touched the ground.
Purple Lightning occasionally flashed through the clouds, silent yet enough to make the heart clench instinctively.
"We're already deep in the Land of Ending!"
Immortal Emperor Yin-Yang's voice was low. "The World Will's suppression is more than ten times stronger than at the outskirts. The farther we go, the stronger it gets!"
Fang Chen closed his eyes and felt the pressure around him.
He could clearly sense an invisible force surging toward him from every direction like a tide, trying to suppress his Cultivation, weaken his power, and erode his soul.
The Floating Immortal Sword trembled faintly within him. The Chaos Vortex on its Sword Body turned slowly, devouring the incoming force of suppression strand by strand.
Instead of weakening, Fang Chen's aura rose.
