Fang Chen walked to the front of Spirit Crane Space and looked through its transparent barrier. Ahead, the Spatial Structure twisted and folded in ways that defied belief.
At times it resembled a crumpled sheet of paper, folded layer upon layer until front and back, left and right became impossible to tell apart. At others, it looked like a shattered mirror, countless shards suspended in the air, each reflecting a different scene: a crimson Wasteland, Dark Gold Ruins, an utterly unfamiliar Star Domain.
In the farthest reaches, he could even see echoes of spacetime hanging like frozen waterfalls.
They were fragments of history that had already happened, yet some force had fixed them in the void:
A Ten-Thousand Zhang Giant raised a Battle Axe and roared at the heavens, but his movement had frozen mid-swing, like a statue held motionless for untold years;
A battered Warship was falling toward an Abyss with no visible bottom. Its shattered decks and broken masts were plain to see, yet it would never reach the bottom. It simply hung there, like a specimen in a display case.
Deeper in, countless pieces of wreckage floated.
The wreckage came in every imaginable form: broken Warships, snapped Sword Edges, fragments of shattered armor, and things whose shapes could not be identified at all. Some looked like the skeletons of enormous creatures, others like metal that had melted and solidified again, and still others like scraps of Law left behind when some rule had been broken.
They hung in the warped space, turning slowly. When they struck one another, they made a deep metallic scraping sound, as though the lingering souls of an ancient battlefield were speaking in hushed voices.
"Incredible!"
Myna bird stared, eyes wide.
Ye Qingci drew a sharp breath. "What happened here?"
