Background

Sasuke is a transmigrator who awakens in the body of a mortally wounded Chunin during the Second Great Ninja War. Initially mistaking his identity for Uchiha Sasuke, he learns that he is Umino Sasuke: a first-generation ninja from a poor civilian family tied to the Sarutobi clan rather than a hidden Umino ninja lineage. His family rose from fishmongers by investing nearly all of its resources into producing a ninja. His name honors Sarutobi Sasuke, the father of Hiruzen Sarutobi, rather than any Uchiha namesake. 2 3

His civilian origins shape his early outlook. Sasuke recognizes that bloodlines, clan resources, and inherited techniques monopolize advancement in the ninja world, while ordinary ninjas face a sharply limited ceiling. He compensates through rapid study, battlefield pragmatism, technical experimentation, and political maneuvering. 3 46 200

After distinguishing himself on the Land of Rivers front, Sasuke builds influence through the Konoha Hundred-Man Squad and later the Iron Wall Legion. Hiruzen supports the establishment of the Umino Clan, while Sasuke returns to Akinahara to recruit relatives and establish hereditary techniques, including Water Candy and Black Rope techniques. 167 170 171

Uzumaki Mito later entrusts Senju Nawaki to Sasuke and transfers Senju assets, land, and political legacy to him. The Umino Clan subsequently gains support from clans such as the Kurama and Mitokado, becoming a major political force within Konoha. 214 338

Personality

Sasuke combines a public image of loyalty, humility, and the Will of Fire with a calculating political mind. He inspires subordinates through generosity, distributes battlefield gains, develops promotion channels for ordinary ninja, and repeatedly prioritizes troop survival and morale. 109 312 324

He is highly pragmatic in both war and politics. Sasuke uses deception, misinformation, infiltrators, and manufactured rivalries when they strengthen his forces or protect his long-term position. He deliberately positioned the Uchiha as a political rival for the Hundred-Man Squad, later improved relations with the clan when cooperation became more useful. 167 329

Despite his ambition, Sasuke is attentive to those under his protection. He cares for his mother after returning from the Land of Rivers, supports Might Duy’s family financially, mentors younger Umino relatives, and accepts responsibility for Nawaki after Mito entrusts him to his care. 113 170 185 214

Abilities & Skills

Sonic and Infrasonic Radar Technique

Sasuke’s sensory technique detects chakra circulation, hand-seal sequences, battlefield movement, and targets obscured by mist.

  • Used it to observe Akimichi Toribo’s chakra flow and copy the Shadow Clone Technique after a single demonstration. 46
  • Countered Kiri Gakure Ryuusuke’s Mist Technique by using Sonic Radar to retain awareness inside the mist. 144
  • Allows him to analyze opponents’ chakra flow and identify hidden irregularities in disguises and techniques. 122 313

Shadow Clone Technique

Sasuke learned the B-rank Shadow Clone Technique almost instantly and developed it into a core combat, reconnaissance, training, and administrative tool.

  • Deploys clones to gather intelligence, conduct experiments, direct retreats, and coordinate battlefield operations. 101 227
  • Uses clones to extend the operating time of chakra-intensive techniques such as Three Heads Six Arms. 144
  • Exploits shadow-clone deployment to handle Jonin Squad affairs without interrupting his personal training. 322

Water Release and Healing

Sasuke inherited advanced Water Release knowledge through Maruboshi Kosuke and later received a Senju Water Release scroll.

  • Can perform Water Wall Formation, Water Severing Wave, and other high-level Water Release techniques. 64 122
  • Uses Water Transformation Healing Technique to treat injured troops and restore morale. 122 312
  • His Water Release was recognized as bearing the qualities of Senju Tobirama’s techniques. 268 349

Umino Secret Techniques

Sasuke develops techniques intended to strengthen the Umino Clan’s hereditary foundation.

  • Water Candy Secret Technique — chosen as the Umino Clan’s core hereditary technique; advanced forms incorporate Yang Release. 171 366
  • Black Rope Secret Technique — manipulates Yang Release-activated hair as flexible weapons and control wires. 171 333
  • Water Candy Seal — used to restrain captured enemies, including a Konoha Jonin who attempted to enforce Hiruzen’s order regarding Dodai. 226

Yin–Yang Release and Chakra Mastery

Sasuke identifies spiritual and physical power as chakra’s fundamental components, then develops extensive control over Yin, Yang, and elemental transformations.

  • Completed all seven basic chakra natures after gaining Fire Release. 316
  • Studies Yin Release for its potential to turn intent and imagination into functional ninjutsu. 101
  • Develops an Outer Chakra Elixir through Yin–Yang cultivation, pursuing abilities comparable to Truth-Seeking Balls and Rinnegan-style forces. 400 401
  • Mastered Ink Release: Super Beast Imitation Drawing and plans to use it to depict all nine Tailed Beasts. 361

Kekkei Genkai

Sasuke possesses multiple bloodline limits acquired and developed during the war.

  • Ice Release — fuses Water and Wind principles, eventually surpassing the Third Mizukage in an Ice Release confrontation. 229 407
  • Magnet Release — controls metal weapons on a large scale, including Ten Thousand Blades Return to Origin and Sand Iron-based techniques. 367 407 429
  • Wood Release — creates Wood Style Clones and uses Hashirama-cell-based modifications to accelerate his Sage Body development. 433 439

Lightning Release and Physical Enhancement

Sasuke trains his body through Yang Release, electric eels, and Kumogakure-derived principles.

  • Cultivates Lightning Release Chakra Mode by combining Electric Eel training with Yang Release chakra. 227
  • Reaches the Fifth Gate of the Eight Inner Gates and Jonin-level taijutsu. 175
  • Uses Monster Strength in direct clashes against the Third Raikage. 352
  • Evolves his lightning armor into Plasma Thunder God Armor, producing a more destructive outer energy layer. 418
  • Lightning Release Chakra Mode requires complementary secret medicine for ideal training efficiency. 228

Three Heads Six Arms Technique and Swordsmanship

Sasuke created Three Heads Six Arms from the Inuzuka Three-Headed Wolf transformation concept, primarily to free additional hands for seals and combination techniques.

  • Grants three heads and six arms, increasing swordsmanship capacity and enabling the Konoha Nine-Sword Style. 142
  • Combines the technique with sword arts such as Ten Thousand Swords Return to Origin and Secret Sword Eruption. 144
  • Has a long casting time and requires post-casting recharge through the Gluttony Technique before reaching full chakra capacity. 144

Space-Time, Sealing, and Spiritual Techniques

Sasuke employs advanced movement and sealing methods in both war and infiltration.

  • Uses the Flying Thunder God Technique for battlefield transport, assassination planning, and rapid deployment. 200 230
  • Recognizes sealing barriers as Flying Thunder God’s principal weakness. 206
  • Selected the S-rank forbidden Spirit Transformation Technique to pursue Kage-level growth and improve his resistance to illusion techniques. 200
  • Uses sealing tags, Water Candy seals, and specialized barrier techniques to restrain dangerous prisoners and weapons. 135 154 226
