A Celestial's Wrath / Ego's True Form

The clouds began to change. Massive amounts of electrical charge built up in the air, and when the Ravager ship drew close, a violent thunderstorm suddenly erupted, even blasting through the ship's outer hull.

"Boss, our engines were hit!" A subordinate hurried over to report.

The news darkened Yondu's expression. "Looks like Ego doesn't want us to leave."

"What the hell is going on?" Quill's mind was a complete mess.

Gamora told him what Dane and Yondu had previously revealed about Ego.

As expected, Quill's first reaction was denial.

"That's impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

He had only just reunited with his biological father, only to learn that the man was some monstrous child-devouring demon. He did not want to accept that at all.

"This isn't the first time he's done it. Mantis said the bones of those children are still piled somewhere on Ego's planet. Maybe it's his sick hobby."

With Ego's abilities, he could easily have ground the children he had devoured into dust. Yet he refused to do so, instead deliberately building a warehouse to store all those bones.

What a guy. Was he planning to admire them whenever he pleased?

When Gamora first heard about it, she had only thought the man was utterly deranged.

"How... how could this be..." Quill crouched down and clutched his head, utterly unwilling to accept the truth.

Just then, the entire ship suddenly lurched.

"What happened?" Yondu barked.

"Boss! We've been caught!"

Outside the Ravager ship, countless vine-like plants burst from the ground. At some point, they had tightly wrapped around the ship, even clogging its thrusters.

The ship was descending.

Gamora anxiously asked, "You escaped this planet before. How did you do it?"

Yondu's face darkened. "That bastard was asleep then. I sneaked away while I had the chance."
