Back on Earth, Dane learned of Lois’s death in a parallel world, while his return to the Justice League brought him into Clark and Lois’s concerns about their child and Lois’s visions.

• Ross agreed to turn Wilson’s death into a political campaign, and footage of Wilson resisting Ultraman helped persuade voters that Ultraman could be hurt.
• Dane entered Hell, met Charley and Angel, and confronted Lucifer after destroying the Nightmare Nightclub.

• Lucifer told Darkseid that Dane’s unique existence lay outside fate’s course and that Death had wagered on him, prompting Darkseid to hold back from attacking Lucifer.
• Desaad’s Parademons destroyed Penguin’s stronghold, and Queen Super and Poison Ivy fought the Female Furies until Dane arrived and explained that Black Superman did not want to wake from the Anti-Life Equation’s control.
• Dane used Ghost Lois to make Clark confront his regret, removed the Anti-Life Equation, and offered him a chance to help defeat Darkseid before serving time in Red Sun Prison.
• Dane traced a Mother Box signal to Apokolips, stole the Power of Death from Desaad, and battled Darkseid, who tried to recruit him before their fight escalated.
