Final tally: Survival Points +877; Remaining Survival Points: 1974. "You two little guys are so clingy. I'll make you a nest when I have time!"
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Su Mo stroked the Big and Little Spark lying on the bed while checking his system Survival Points for the day.
I spent almost 700 points yesterday, but unexpectedly, I added almost 900 points today. Not only did I not lose points, but I actually accumulated more Survival Points.
"The temperature is dropping so fast! It feels like the temperature in the shelter is only around five or six degrees now!"
I pulled back the covers, and a gust of cold air rushed in, taking away the little warmth I had managed to maintain all night.
The Big and Little Spark were making a gurgling sound because they were cold at night, Su Mo simply took both of them and put them on the bed.
The second disaster was clearly not as easy to overcome as the first acid rain disaster.
The 72-hour-long blizzard with temperatures dropping to -20 degrees Celsius was just the most delicious part of the "disaster" dish.
But the gradual cooling down was the biggest threat to the wasteland humans.
Over the course of a week, the temperature had dropped to minus eight or nine degrees Celsius every night, but the Underground Shelter was able to retain heat due to its terrain.
Some of the wooden shelters on the ground are really dangerous because the cold wind blows in late at night.
The cold weather has restricted search and rescue operations, further straining already limited supplies.
They had to survive for more than 72 hours on these supplies until the blizzard arrived, and then face the melting snow that would last for more than ten days.
"An absolute test of survival; in this situation, the only way for humans to survive is to stick together."
While rinsing his mouth, Su Mo looked at everyone's messages on the world chat panel.
It is clear that almost everyone is in a bad situation, and even some large shelters that seem to have two or three hundred people are having a hard time.
The surrounding trees are being cut down endlessly, and to obtain more timber, one must go to farther places.
These people didn't have 100 Disaster Points to luxuriously open their Storage Space, so after cutting down the wood, they had to carry it back.
The physical exertion lost during the journey is often outweighed by the cost of food, making some of the trips not even worthwhile.
"Gurgle~" Su Mo spat all the mouthwash onto the side of the Culture Medium, then closed the chat panel with a thoughtful expression.
"A transaction is definitely going to happen."
"These people have quite a few good things. Looks like I'll have to stockpile some food and figure out a way to bring it in and exchange it for something valuable."
As Su Mo rummaged through the food storage area, his mind began to stir.
If these Explosive Pack work well today, they'll definitely blow up the kobold camp to smithereens.
There will be piles of treasure chests, and you're sure to get a lot of food from them. You can take the food in and exchange it for the scarce supplies. You'll get what you want from both sides, it's a huge profit! Thinking of this, Su Mo got excited and immediately made two bowls of flour and cooked a pot of noodles.
If you want to avoid getting hungry when you go out to work, you definitely need to have some oil or fat in your stomach.
Put Chili Powder on the noodle bowl, pour hot oil over them, and add some dehydrated vegetables on top. The flavor is incredibly satisfying!
After eating a bowl of noodles, I'll fill the gaps with a large glass of Psionic Water and then have a couple of bites of canned yellow peaches.
Sitting on the stone bench, Su Mo had more hopes for the future.
When he first arrived in the wasteland, Su Mo only dared to think about surviving one day at a time.
Now, Su Mo is thinking not only about surviving, but also about living a quality life! Living a life full of hope!
"Once this disaster is over, I should also make contact with the nearby shelters. It's not a good idea to isolate myself!"
We greeted Oreo, who was well-fed and ready to go.
Standing in the Supply Room, this time, Su Mo put down all the miscellaneous items and sorted the Explosive Pack he had made and connected the night before into different categories according to their weight.
Three large bottles of Psionic Water, two bowls of extra boiled Oil Splash Noodles, a telescope, a lighter, and a helmet—after checking that all supplies were complete and donning their gear, Somo used the large-screen TV to survey the surrounding area and, finding no danger, picked up Oreo Su Mo strode out the door.
Enter the password, and the bolt will retract.
As soon as he pushed open the door, a biting cold wind rushed in, causing Su Mo to shiver.
"It's so cold! It must be around zero degrees Celsius outside now."
Stepping outside, gusts of sand and dust rose up, and frost could even be seen condensing on the weeds on the ground.
"Woof~ Awoo~ woof~ woof~"
Oreo, however, was not afraid of the cold and became unusually excited, standing on the small hill and howling at the distance!
He opened the garage door, started the engine, and waited until the engine was warm before Su Mo got in and drove out.
"Oreo, come on, stop yelling. I'm the only guy within ten miles, so don't get any ideas!"
With a shout, and seeing Oreo obediently run down to sit in the back seat and fasten his seatbelt, Su Mo smiled knowingly and released the brake.
Slowly, the wheels began to roll forward, and as Su Mo pressed the accelerator, it shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.
Aside from its appearance being somewhat similar to the Bouncy in Last Man Standing, the Desert Racer built by Ma Gu is superior to the Bouncy in all other aspects.
Even the chassis of this car is higher than that of many small sedans.
It is clear that Ma Gu made a comprehensive assessment of the wilderness terrain before finally creating such a powerful off-road racing car.
Driving on the poorly maintained wasteland, the excellent chassis effectively isolated most of the vibrations.
After driving for about fifty kilometers, Su Mo stopped at the same spot and prepared to climb the hill to take a look.
However, when the Bouncy noise stopped, Su Mo heard a commotion coming from ahead.
Using both hands and feet, Su Mo quickly climbed up the high slope, took out his binoculars, and looked towards the Saltpeter Mine camp.
This sight was quite astonishing.
In just four or five days, the Saltpeter Mine camp has more than doubled in size! This doubling does not refer to the increase in the number of houses in the camp, but rather to the doubling of the fortifications used for combat and defense.
Previously there were two watchtowers, but now there are six!
Two on the side, four in front! Right in front of the camp, there were barricades—an ancient weapon used by Earth to suppress rangers!
Furthermore, within a three-meter radius of the campsite, there were countless splinters of wood scattered about, enough to make one's scalp tingle.
Su Mo had no doubt about the power of these barbs.
Anyone who rushes up there will only have one fate: they will be skewered on top and treated like a "kebab".
As his gaze shifted, Su Mo couldn't help but gasp in shock.
"My God, what kind of monster is this?"
On a few barbs, Su Mo saw skewers of roasted meat that had not yet been gathered up.
Vicious blood and bits of flesh continued to drip from the barbs, as if a fierce battle had recently taken place here.
Several Kobold Warrior, spears in hand, walked through the barbs, occasionally finishing off one or two monsters with their spears.
On each watchtower, Su Mo saw groups of six Kobold Warlock standing crowded together, looking down.
After putting down the telescope and taking a break, Su Mo refocused and looked at the strung-up monster.
"This creature also seems to be a half-human species. Is it the feline we saw before? Is it Cat Man or a lion-man?"
All the monsters were facing away from this direction, and the distance was too great for Su Mo to see them very clearly.
Pulling up the telescope, Su Mo looked behind him and was astonished to find that there were actually three catapults in the kobold camp!
