Penglai Immortal Island, White Jade Palace. White Deer Immortal quietly called Chen Renfeng away.
"Immortal, what is it?" In a side room, a barrier had been erected.
"Do you want the Golden Core of a Great Luo Golden Immortal?"
"Yes, where is it?" Chen Renfeng extended his hand.
"Do you know what the True Martial Great Emperor is looking at in the mirror?"
Chen Renfeng shook his head.
"The origin of the Great Dao of mortals, the foundation for becoming a saint. These are what we Great Luo Golden Immortals lack," White Deer Immortal said.
"What is the origin of the Great Dao?"
"The faith of mortals. Faith that moves Great Luo Golden Immortals to tears. The tears they shed are Golden Cores, they are cultivation resources," White Deer Immortal said.
Chen Renfeng was overjoyed. "What does this humble immortal need to do? Immortal, please instruct me." White Deer Immortal quietly told him her plan.
The two returned to the garden and continued watching the water mirror.
Half an hour later, the young monk who had just been revived woke up in pain.
He touched the bandages wrapped around his body and knew he had been saved. An old man was snoring by a rock beside him, and he didn't dare to disturb him.
Seeing the water flask on the rock, he took two sips. His dry lips and parched throat were soothed, but his stomach grumbled uncontrollably.
"I need to find something to eat!" he thought to himself.
The young monk walked a few hundred steps along the path leading to the mountaintop.
He had been starving for three days, and his legs were already weak.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew past. "Wow, it smells so good! What is that amazing smell?" the young monk exclaimed, catching a strong aroma.
He had grown up in the kitchen of the royal monastery, Chongsheng Temple, eating and taking his fill, and had tasted various delicacies from Southern Expedition Country. His sense of smell was extremely keen.
Following the scent, he walked faster, passing through the dense forest and climbing to the mountaintop, seven or eight zhang high.
He looked out and saw a body of water in the distance, as green as jade, surrounded by the rolling Yunling Mountains. Further away, there was another lake.
Taking a few more steps, he discovered a stone table ahead, laden with exquisite porcelain plates. There was fish and meat, and many dishes he didn't recognize at all. It was truly a dazzling and beautiful sight.
He was so hungry his back was against his stomach, and he felt like he could fit a whole cow inside him. The rumbling sound was like thunder.
The young monk, driven mad by hunger, thought he was hallucinating. He slapped himself hard and rubbed his eyes.
He found that the dishes on the stone table were still there, and no one was around. Starving as he was, he couldn't care less. He propped himself up at the stone table and took a bite of the Dongpo Pig Elbow, devouring it with gusto.
Unfortunately, faced with the young monk's eating style, the Dongpo Twelve Famous Dishes couldn't possibly reveal their exquisite flavors.
The young monk had an astonishing appetite. He drank the entire bowl of Dongpo Jade Rice Soup, looking up happily.
Suddenly, he froze. After regaining his senses, he was so startled that he scooted backward and sat on the ground.
He saw a tombstone carved from stone, inscribed with "Tomb of my beloved daughter Bai Bing, erected by Ziqi."
The young monk quickly kowtowed and apologized, chanting the mantra for rebirth: "Namo Amitabha. Tathagata. ... Vikalanta. Svaha."
Just as the young monk closed his eyes and continuously recited scriptures.
Suddenly, a loud shout rang out: "Who is this rogue monk?"
The young monk, startled, quickly opened his eyes and saw two young gentlemen with angry expressions. He hurriedly got up, but because he had been kneeling for so long, he fell to the ground again, looking flustered.
Su Dingfeng, seeing the food he had painstakingly prepared ruined by this rogue monk, became enraged and threw the food box in his hands at the young monk.
The young monk quickly covered his head with his arms to block it, and the freshly made grilled oysters spilled all over the ground.
Su Dingfeng, furious, drew his sword from his back and yelled, "You rogue monk, you first broke the precept of stealing, then the precept of eating meat, and now you're stealing food from the dead. Today, I will deliver you to Buddha!"
"Stop!" A voice came from a distance. Su Dingfeng looked in the direction of the sound and saw a young physician wearing a bamboo hat rushing over.
She grabbed the young monk by the collar and lifted him up, scolding, "Who told you to run around? Where's Old Man Meng?"
The young monk tried to break free but couldn't. He didn't know who this person was either.
"Put me down!"
Su Jiangcheng blocked Su Dingfeng, who was about to advance, and probed the two people in front of him with his aura before asking, "Does the physician know this young monk?"
The young physician looked at the two men and replied unpleasantly, "No, he's a patient I just saved."
Su Jiangcheng said sincerely, "This monk has broken a promise my master made to a deceased friend. Since the physician doesn't know him, why not hand him over to me? I can take him back to give my master an explanation."
The young physician glanced at the tombstone, suppressed the grief in his heart, and said coldly, "What does your master have to do with me! The young monk is my patient. After I cure him, you can deal with him yourself."
Su Dingfeng heard this and became furious. "You ungrateful wretch! Take this sword!"
He unleashed the Su Xian Sect's ultimate move, "Five Stars Fight Light." His sword danced in the air, forming five golden stars that shot towards the young physician.
The young physician, with bare hands and no weapon to defend himself, did not want to abandon the young monk to dodge.
With a flick of his foot, he sent the food box flying towards his opponent. Su Dingfeng's sword met the food box, shattering it to pieces.
Just as Su Dingfeng was about to strike again, he heard an arrow whizzing towards him from behind.
He quickly used the move "Turning Head Expecting Desolation." His sword, as if with eyes behind him, struck down the arrow without him turning his head.
In the blink of an eye, a troop of soldiers rushed up.
They wore leather armor, had curved swords at their waists, and nocked arrows to surround the four of them.
Then, a series of curses came from down the mountain. As they drew closer, two military commanders revealed themselves.
One was tall and imposing with a pale face, the other had a dark face and prominent horns.
"Damn it, who let you come to Gu Mountain? What are you doing lurking around here?" the dark-faced general said.
Su Jiangcheng sized them up and politely replied, "I've come here to pay respects to an old friend. May I know the general's name?"
"I'm Alu from the Yangzong Tribe," the dark-faced general with thick eyebrows replied.
Su Jiangcheng said, "Are you General Alu of Ziqi Country, and General Age, and General Abu?"
Alu replied, "That's right. This is my second brother, Age from the Buxiong Tribe."
Su Jiangcheng had seen the portraits of the King of Ziqi Country and his three sons given by his master. These two men looked exactly like the ones in the paintings.
Su Jiangcheng quickly cupped his fists and said, "This junior is Su Jiangcheng, a disciple of the Su Xian Sect. This is my junior brother, Su Dingfeng. We were ordered by our master to deliver birthday wishes and gifts to the King of Ziqi Country."
After speaking, he took out a token and a letter from his embrace and handed them to Alu.
General Alu's guard took the token and the letter. After Alu read them, he handed them to General Age.
After both of them had finished reading, General Age said, "Brother, why don't we return to Milu City first and report to Father King to see what he thinks?"
Alu nodded and said, "Young heroes, please wait down the mountain for a moment. We will go together to pay our respects to Father King."
Su Jiangcheng and Su Dingfeng exchanged a look and nodded.
As soon as they took a step, Su Jiangcheng suddenly used the "Flying Goose Treading on Snow Mud" light body technique, a secret art of his sect, under his feet.
With a flash, he appeared beside the young physician.
He launched a sneak attack, using the "Left Leads Yellow, Right Holds Azure" close-quarters grappling technique. His left hand, like a tiger's claw, grabbed her shoulder, while his right sword finger pointed at her Qihai acupoint.
The young physician had been on guard against Su Dingfeng. She never expected another to move so swiftly, with two consecutive moves forcing her to release the young monk. She used her "Left and Right Blocking Hands" to deflect the attack.
Su Jiangcheng's hands changed, striking with the "Thousands of Riders Sweep Across the Hill" palm technique towards the young physician's Tanzhong acupoint.
The young physician, new to the martial world and having never fought anyone before, secretly felt her opponent was shameless. She used 80% of her power with the "Wood Spirit Art" to clash with him.
The young physician was forced back a step by the impact.
Su Jiangcheng was also pushed back a step. He took the opportunity to grab the young monk's collar and shouted, "Little monk, come with me."
